FYI - the "tactical" version of the M2 holds 5+1 (the so-called "field" version you linked only holds 3+1, but I'm after a tactical autoloading shotgun)

both the benelli and berettas have proprietary auto actions.

although, i can recall reading that the patents on one had expired or that they have licensed it out to other manufacturers. or something like that.

you'll never hear me "rack" my 45.....

I believe that Stoeger uses the same action. I have one, but believe in pump action for defense purposes.

What is the forum preference for loads? 00 or #4 buckshot? Or #4 Pheasant loads?

The Beretta autoloader action has a weird delayed action feel to it, but others love the Beretta.

No rules, John. Just an option. The thread can keep going outside of the classifieds. Whatever.

Actually Yin was talking about a locked ad. We can lock them so nobody can reply. Almost no WTB ads are locked.

Since @arizonaitalian was asking about various weapons, responses are fine. In my case I wanted to be sure he was aware of a certain tactical shotgun. He was clear later on that he was aware and looking for a different kind of gun.

I think the thread is good where it is since it is still a WTB classified ad.

I thought about a Mossberg Marine, but went with a 12 Gauge FN TPS Tactical Police Pump Shotgun - 18" barrel 3" chamber - 8 rounds Fixed Stock - Fixed Choke Amazing smooth action, try one if you can find one. Photo is a off the web but its the same as mine.

They have one at one of the local shops in town for $499. Its...umm...interesting...

I've never owned anything Ak styled. This one comes with two clear plastic 10-shot mags. Its on the short side at 38" and having the shells in the "middle" more or less rather than along side the barrel might make it interestingly balanced when swinging. I dunno...I told them to hold it until tomorrow while I do a bit more research on it. I don't think I would feel comfortable using it for HD, but it does look like a fun weapon for the range, etc.

If I picked this up, I'd still want a Benelli or 930SPX at some point...

Why do you prefer an auto loader?

I’m not challenging, I just want to understand.

I was typing this and after it posted I saw your post. You raise a very good question...

Frankly I'm starting to lean towards pulling a 5+ year old (but still new-in-box) Mossberg 500 Persuader that I have somewhere in the back of my storage unit and placing it into frontline service as the HD shotgun. So many folks are telling me pump is the way to go for assured reliability even if looking at very good auto's like the M2, M4 and 930SPX. Its just that the semi-auto's are so damn cool...

I’ve seen newbies on a sporting clays course with autoloaders that jammed or mis-fired. It’s not as easy to clear an autoloader as it is a pump when you’ve got, say, a bad primer.

Going to pull the Mossberg 500 out of storage and use it until an M2 that I have leads on at a couple of places shows up later this fall. Passing on the Lynx.
