From what has been mentioned in this thread, yes this VS will exist in both coupé and spider versions.
Don’t know the veracity of these info, but this is actually what has been said here.

Since the 812 GTS exists, I don't see any reason for Ferrari to not milk the customers with a limited, open top hardcore version

Dcmetro I totally agree with you! They did the same with the V8 range from the F430, and there is no reason not to make a VS GTS (or whatever it will be called).

    Only time will tell.

Regarding the 812SF, Ferrari has indeed stopped production of this model before August by completing the last orders taken end of 2019 / beginning of 2020.

Agree, it's very reasonable to expect a VS GTS spider. But let's hope they won't do the entry level "V12 tributo" after the two VS like they did with the Pista and F8...

    :D

I thought I heard they were going to complete a 4 year cycle. If they have truly stopped, does anyone know the final production number. Has to be less than the F12?

812SF orders collapsed after GTS launch - so production of 812 didn’t necessarily stop, but transitioned from SF to GTS. Many 812 depositors were highly pissed off when GTS was launched and secondary values cratered. Can only guess factory accommodated a switch to GTS. Demand was high since there hasn’t been a series production V12 convertible since the Daytona.

Actually, in the USA, the 812SF order queue (and resale) was destroyed by the SF90 launch, not the 812GTS, in fact the idea that there will be an SF90Spider has softened 812GTS orders, many dealers opened up 812GTS orders to anyone even with those no purchase history...

What makes this price collapse in the USA surprising is production appears to be fewer than 1000 812SF for USA, so they are fewer than half F12 production (in the USA)

And, last I heard, you can still order an 812SF in USA, MY2021 cars have been ordered so they are not yet produced...but yes, it appears Europe orders have ended (remembering that EU was well supplied while the USA was undersupplied, I suspect due to expected EU files that Ferrari pays for CO2 performance and tightening limits occurring now in the EU)

It’s a mistake to open the 812GTS to anyone without purchase history. It dooms the secondary market. No one will pay full boat for a car anyone can buy new. This is Ferrari recipe 101. Maybe try phone a friend on the next marketing decision (LdM perhaps).

I would be seriously surprised to see it revealed in 2020. Next unveil should be reserverd for the SF90 Targa next month, followed by the Portofino restyling as far as I know.

Yes, but times have changed and the IPO simbolize another area...
He didn t want this because he knows very well all the consequences; and as you know, they fired him UNFORTUNATLY...
Often he ate at the Cavallino restaurant in front the historic entry and exhanged a few discussions while always listening.
He was both the guardian of the temple and of the Ferrari s prosperity

I see where you are coming from but for a non VS car, why restrict entry for new owners? I don't see the point of that. It prevents new owners to get involved at points where maybe they hadn't been able to previously in time. For a company of this scale (and business model clearly) it doesn't make sense to play games fundamentally with people getting cars they want. There is little different from doing what you are suggesting, that is, preventing someone with little history to buy a standard production vehicle--nothing overly rare, and the antics of dealerships to play games with additional pricing over sticker to get a sense of greater stake in the money game. I left other brands because of that and put a lot of coin on other vehicles in other high end brands and it would have gone to Ferrari or top tier Porsche models if I hadn't been given an opportunity to get into a car (not rare) that I was looking for. It discourages a new fish in the pond to grow in the brand and I really dislike that sort of exclusion. The rare models will exclude any owners as it is. No need to forcibly exclude like a gentleman's club even the base models of vehicles. We all start somewhere and I know I wasn't interested in buying some used undesirable or had passed the entry point to get base models that might be proposed to own first and shouldn't have to wait for a 4 or 5 year cycle for my ticket to come up again.

Problem is, Ferrari is running out of time, EU rules change in 2022 and will require chassis (b-pillar, windshield) strengthening/changes, if the 812VS launch follows history it will then be 6-9 months before production starts.

The later the reveal, the later production starts and unlike the Pista where they produced many to earn 10% end of series overrun into a year (this year) the car would no longer be in compliance (with EU rules such as what requires GPF), the 812VS will need to quickly ramp up and get production finished, unless, like the Monza, they seriously limit total volume to be made.

Thus, the reveal needs to be soon, I do not see how they can wait until next summer (for instance). The PF refresh supposedly includes more power from the engine as well..

Hopefully news of the reveals will occur soon, probably right after the factory is back from its break, next week I believe.

I am just playing devils advocate, no way they release 3 new cars this fall. I think Portofino for sure, its a toss up between 812VS and SF90Spider(Targa). Then they also have the Lusso replacement all this heading into a deeper recession for the world.
