It's tough to bet against that guy no matter what race it is.

But Sato will have the hot line going into turn #1.

Sato still hasn't learned you can't win the race in turn 1 lap 1 and he's been racing for like 70 years now it seems. Hoping for a great race and a safe one!

Dixon must be rated as one of, if not the, best drivers of this generation.

Versatile equally in open wheeled and sports cars, he is in that rare air only shared with the likes
of Mario Andretti and Tom Kristensen.

I had the great pleasure to finally meet Dixon at our Bal Harbour Shops event last November. Super
cool guy, very candid and friendly just as his public persona.

None the less, the guys at the pointy end of the field will be watching their mirrors for the Penske
boys which will no doubt be moving forward from their disappointing starting positions.

Dixon is definitely the driver of his generation. lots of other greats in his generation but he's on another level

I don't really care who wins, just hoping for another great finish. we've been lucky the last few years to see some classic races

+1 And hopefully a safe race as well, there are a number of young drivers in the field.

He's very aggressive at Indy. And he's already a winner there.

BTW, my longshot hopeful would be Santino Ferrucchi.

+1 Ferruch may be lacking some social skills but I like the way that he drives. It would be great to see him with a top team.

No one ever won a race based upon social skills. Alpha males seem to find a way to beat beta's. He who lifts going into turn one is beta.

No but you can lose a drive without them. Just ask Santino or Kurt Busch(another fine driver).

  15. Absolutely. Just ask Gordy (Oh yeah!) and Rick (Ooooopsie.) about Indy, '82. ;)

Carburetion Day is tomorrow(Friday), coverage on NBCSports and NBCSports website at 11 AM, EST. Does anyone know the last car with carburetors to race at Indy? It had to be in the 1960s.

Well, the best I could find is that cars at Indy have not run carburetors “since 1963.” Now, I don’t know if that means there were no carbed cars there in 1963, or that 1963 was the last year that one raced there.

    Syntax, people. It’s important.

the last two carbureted cars were the Lotus Fords of Jim Clark and Dan Gurney in 1963.

which is amusing, since they were among the first competitive mid engined cars at Indy

The 2017 SCCA Runoffs were run at Indy. :p Many of the classes of cars still use carbs. They also will return in 2021.

NOT good enough??? Really just meant the pros on the oval? VVV

    actually you're WRONG!!!!!!!! :p

the last carbureted car to run at Indy was at the 2019 SVRA Vintage Grand Prix (the 2020 version having been postponed due to the 'Rona)
