After 81k km my oil pressure dropped on the indicator from about 6 kg/mm2 (about 6 bar) to about 4 to 4.5 kg/mm2. After reading threads on this topic for 3x8 I ordered a new sensor (part # 122592) at Maranello Classic Parts and problem solved.
    But the new sensor differs:
    1. inlet hole is notable smaller in diameter making it react faster to pressure changes so instead a very slow moving indicator I now see the needle move faster which I can appreciate.
    2. threading is real large with M18x1.5 (308 QV and MondialQV seem to have same size but earlier models are M16). Length of the threading of the new sensor is notable shorter that makes it a bit more difficult to mount and needed the oil filter removed and a M18 key made to size.
    3. the copper seal ring (#33 on below map) needs ordered separate. The original has it fixed (cannot be separated), so dont forget to order that 30 cents thing.
Below a pic of the original Veglia and a copy of the parts map (Tav. 21).

Is the replacement a Veglia part? Wow your wire on the original looks like it may have been rubbing on something as the wire is showing through the sheath, might have been some of your issue.

Yes, I found that years ago and must have been caused by having been squeezed between 2 of the many hoses and electrical wire-bundels in that area. I taped it and worked well for years until above issue happened. Anyway, the new cable is a beauty in comparizon :)
The new is no Veglia and there is no make to be found on the part. Only marking on the part is "2901". Its stupid that I did not make a picture of my new sensor. However I show here a pic of the new sensors that can be ordered at OKP in Germany and at Eurospares in the UK. The Eurospares one looks a copy of my original although also here the inlet hole is smaller and the OKP one looks like the one I fitted. I read on this side that experience with a the new Eurospares sensor was no good as it failed after less than a year. I might be wrong and dont like writing this since my experiences with Eurospares are rel good.

I also had to replace mine on my 308QV and was curious if you were able to find a veglia. I couldn't either.

No, but the suppliers in the UK, US, Germany and Italy do not specify anything nor name the make.
