I’d like to hear everyone’s opinions on tires! Last active thread seems to be a few years old.

On my built Datsun 280z I use Potenza 71Rs and adore them, incredible tires. However, for a F430 which will see more miles, cold fall nights, and rain then the 71R may not be best.

I’m between the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Bridgestone Potenza 71R.

My thoughts, correct me if I’m wrong:
The 71Rs are much much sticker at resting temperature and don’t require as much warmup time and therefor better for the street. **my main reason for these***
They have acceptable wet performance but not as good as Pilot Sport 4S But in the rain I can just drive slow as I’d usually avoid it to begin with.

My only concern with the 71R is OAT. Will these be too brittle with no traction if it’s 45 degrees F compared to the Pilot Sport 4S? I haven’t notice with my 280z but that doesn’t have the power like a F430 and has nearly the same size tires so I’ve got traction to spare even in the cold/wet with the 280z.
