I should be at the track. Today is a first for me in 25 years. Watching a 500 on TV live. Weird day. Strange year.

Even though we all know the Indy 500, normaly I hardly see anything of Indycar, in Europe F1 and WEC is what it's all about.

This year however my fellow countryman Veekay is participating so going to watch the race. He's starting 4th on the grid, obviously as a rooky he'll probably be an outsider for the podium at best. Just finishing the race will probably already be a win for him.

Who are the favourites ? What are the expectations for Alonso ?

 

Veekay has been very impressive this year.

Alonso was mid pack on Carb Day, not a good sign particularly when his teammates were P1 and P5. he'll need luck on his side today

 

The queen Danica Patrick is here everyone!

 

Another event without spectators, 250.000 (!!) this time.

Does reduce the atmosphere.

 

Hope he can keep it out of the wall this time.

Looking at starting line-up interesting to see the number of household names; Andretti, Rahal, Herta, Carpenter.

 

Let's hope for what we've had in recent years, a good exciting and safe race. Meeting Pagenaud at the Chantilly Concours late June last year was great, he was very gracious and a very nice guy.

So why are they having the driver's wear masks when they are introduced?

They are 6 feet apart. They are all tested. They are outdoors. So...? NBC's announcers interviewed Mario and there were no masks.

I'm not against wearing masks but it seems just silly.

 

It is sillly, but it's the same everywhere. It's all about image, look we have a protocol.

 

It would be great to see history being made: Fernando get the triple crown or Helio join the 4 time winners. In any case I don't see favorites but Dixon is strong.

 

Then don't even bring them out. You couldn't see anything. You're introducing drivers and people are going ... um, who?

I have to say that putting Mario and Michael in that 2 seater is pretty brilliant.

 

Good to see she's so stylish rolleyes ( ) and obviously more successful at eating (more obvious Carb Day when she wasn't hiding under that tent of an outfit) then driving a race car.

I'll give ya Andretti, but.....
