I have a 2010 Ferrari California and I have misplaced my key and do not have a spare. Its a 2010 so an old school turn key.
Could a car key locksmith make a new set or would it only be the dealer?
Also, do they need my car or can they do it without the car?

Are you missing both the key and the fobs?

If you just need a key, one can be made from the car (at least that was the case in the really old school days). I had one made for a Maserati about 40 years ago.

From everything I've read here, your only option is to go to the dealer.

Only Dealer for Keys; Expect them to ask you for some proof of ownership e.g. registration/ title.

Yeah it's a dealer only item. Like Auraraptor was saying expect them to ask you for proof of ownership (current reg/title and drivers license/passport). The transponder is inside the key and will need to be programmed to the car. So even if you had a blank cut you would still need it programmed to turn off the alarm or start the car.

I was told that if you lose both keys you need a brand new ECU for the car which is very expensive. Plus the key cost.
