F8 Order Status

Found out I'm only G10 yesterday so not very happy, I was promised the car in September but, I can't see that happening given August holidays etc as until its R10 nothing has really started

 

My F8 is getting full paint correction before XPel paint protection film, CQuartz ceramic coating, and wheel swap (HRE P101). The window tint is complete in this short video. We used XPel Prime XR+ 30% on the side windows and 70% on the windshield. I’ll post more videos of the paint-correction results next week.

Does the tint on the windshield have any protective abilities for chips? I am planing on wrapping my windshield for protection as I run with a car club here and there is usually some gravel on some of the Mtn roads. I know the windshield wrap for protection purposes will distort the glass a bit.

 

It’s not specifically designed for chip protection, but it is 2 mils thick (0.0508 mm) so I guess it could help somewhat.

I got it for the UV and heat / IR blocking properties (you can see the specs in the image below).

Windshield tint/UV filter is typically installed on the interior. No external protection unless you install a use-specific external film.

 

Black always looks so good. Gotta ask, what’s the tv for? Drive in garage movie theater?

Just went status 92 today.

 

Just put a call into my dealer, waiting for call back, I am not yet confirmed 92

 

I am still showing 91.

 

My dealer says the factory is closed until the end of the week so I will have no update, are your dealers calling the factory or just loging in on their dealer machines

 

My dealer is getting updates directly from MODIS

No, 92 on Monday..probably a week or so to Scottsdale depending on how many stops along the way.

 

I thought 92 meant prep done (At dock)and 93 meant released to shipper.

 

My sales guy told me it was loaded on transport on Monday, so I guess it is 93? He estimated delivery Sept 3rd or 4th, supposed to update me again before the weekend.

Yeah sounds like it’s possible, but none of the Techs to prep for delivery work on the weekends.. So thats why he told me guesstimate Sept 3rd or 4th.

 

I am only 45 minutes from NJ Port, hoping it gets released to shipper tomorrow. Best case I could pick it up Fri

 

Went 93 today, should be at dealer tomorrow. Hoping to pick it up tomorrow PM or Sat. AM. Have my EXPEL guy coming Sat. Hoping to be driveable Mon. or Tues. This is my optimistic game plan.

 

I finally have a vin [emoji16] how long after a vin is shown on the app does it take to build the car normally?

It was accepted many months ago, it's just sat there in G10 for ages and then the vin showed up o yesterday
