"Stepping up" sound like a generous spin on the situation.

    HI everybody .
I'm a french owner of a CALIFORNIA YM 2009 lost in Reunion Island ( indian Ocean ) and alone to fight with a DCT problem . I've opened the gearbox which is not so complicated but a long job to take it out from the car !
The computer said it's a problem with oil pressure sensor and I've found them .
Does anybody knows where I can find spare parts ?
    Thanks for your reply !

What is the fault code that you have? There are only three pressure sensors in a California DCT gearbox (system pressure, odd clutch pressure, even clutch pressure). All of the other cars (458,F12,FF, etc) have a fourth pressure sensor for the E-Diff, which the California does not have.

In the past, in order to get any one of the pressure sensors you had to purchase a complete CCP (Clutch Control Plate), along with a level 2 repair kit. This was very expensive, $10K USD+. Ferrari now offers the E-Diff pressure sensor as a separate part, because they were prone to failure and upgraded from a 40bar sensor to a 60bar sensor.

I don't know if you can purchase any of the other three sensors from Ferrari as separate parts. Ferrari has a lockdown on all of the DTC parts. You can try contacting your local dealer to see if they can get them for you, but Ferrari is closed due to the Covid 19 virus.

Yep mine loses odd or even gears and I turn off ignition, open drivers door , let her rest a few minutes then she works fine . Or if I shut her down and let sit for 30 minutes or so , she works fine. Sometimes I do a hard reset ( dis connect battery etc) let her sit overnight and seems to go longer before it does it again. Dealer says it’s common on dct - speed sensor. Really a pain and troublesome. James I. San Antonio Tx

3rd gear sensor issue like the FF has? can be fixed for under 3K if you find an honest independant who wont bill you for 30 hours at 200+ an hour

Are you under warranty ? If so I’d take the car straight in; it sounds as though you may have the sensor failure; I believe that some dealerships have the skills/authority to repair as a less costly alternative; an unfortunate weakness it seems on these cars

Ferrari is not allowed to repair these anymore, replacement is 45k and not a fix....still subject to failure.

Ferrari dealers won’t work on them but there are several qualified places who will, at a fraction of a new gearbox.

Is that perhaps a Getrag issue?
Mitsu dealers also won't open the Getrag boxes on the EVO X MR.
(But then, there aren't all that many Getrag equipped Mitsus.)

More like a ‘Ferrari would rather you pay them and their dealers a fortune’ issue…
