Dave, you know how much I love that story! That old Timex doesn't tell TIME, it tells a STORY! Wear it well, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Thanks my friend. I knew you'd remember. It is a great story isn't it? I turned 60 last Friday. How in the hell did THAT happen?
Great story! You're not so old, I still remember the ice cream fountain counter at JJ Newberry's (west coast Woolworth). Happy Birthday!

Great story. Thanks for posting. You motivate me to put on my 1971 Timex Marlin. No dramatic story like yours but I did have to save a few months of “allowance” to buy it for myself. Yes: its the memories that count with stuff like this. Image Unavailable, Please Login
60....you're a BABY still!! Haven't you heard that's the new 40?? We all have a story or two about a time piece that has more value than its monetary worth, though yours is the best yet!! As Benjamin Graham once said.."PRICE is what you pay, VALUE is what you get." Truer words are rarer to find!! Just wait til you put it on for your 9oth!!!!
Congratulations and Happy Birthday! What an amazing story and extremely well written, thank you for sharing... Sometimes, we all forget the sentimental value of objects, it could be the people they remind us of, the events/memories, or in some cases just how far we have come. To sound cliche, if only that watch "could talk." Very cool! Erik
Haha, no clue who that is....honestly never noticed until after....I am a true WIS as I way more interested in gaining a great watch shot and was oblivious to the butt in the picture!

Chronographs, „a common issue with ETA 2894-2 based chronographs.“, not chronometers. That‘s what I wanted to write. Apologies for the blunder.
