Hi I'm finished with my cosmetical rebuild and new gaskets etc. On a 1983 BBi who sat for 20 years. But with startup I have no oil pressure. I tested 2 sensors and I know the gauge works perfectly (tested). Is there a procedure on startup to pump up the oil? Now I have started the car for 4 times ans about 10sec each time. I'm scared to try again. I had the front cover off the engine to replace the gasket and the engine from the gearbox but I can't think I did something wrong there? Thanks Enzo

Was there silicone there when you removed the front cover. If so check the oil sump and see if you see any silicone debri. Just happened to me on my major service.
Very scary! For this very reason I try to always pre oil engines before restarting after surgery, cranking without plugs.
I do the same even when the engine was not running more than 1 year. I remember a big tank transporter ( nearly 100 tons loaded, 30 ltr diesel, 8 cylinder from MTU ) I was driving during military time. when starting you always had to push the "engine off switch" until you see at the gauge that there is oilpressure and only then you could release this switch and the engine starts then.
