Problem: New Door Seals Needed. What not to do: Call ferrari, search online, contact various companys, ask other owners, etc. What TO do: Contact Kerry Wittig and buy his door seals. When recieved: Install them and wonder how they could be so perfect. What to do with any thoughts or questions or desire to find better seals: Ignore them - no thinking or questions allowed. Just buy these (its that easy) everything is done for you. Its not possible to find a better match. Say thank You.
Kerry Wittig. He has what you need. Tell em Turbopanzer sent you. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=8562
Do a search on these rubbers ... and you may see there is a lot written about them. More suppliers exist ... Do look here at least !
Just makes you warm and fuzzy inside doesn't it? Wanna feel even better???? Try the Vacuum Pump Shaft he is offering. No problems, fast install and you can take it off the list of parts to worry about
The door seals on my '92 512TR were starting to separate and look awful so I naturally turned to FChat for help in finding a replacement. I found that Kerry had located a source for OEM-like material and, although it was years later, reached out to him hoping that he might still have access. And yes - he sure does! The material arrived yesterday and looks just like the OEM material. I can't wait to get it on the car. Thanks, Kerry!! His email is [email protected] for anyone else looking for the seals.
See this (very long) thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/testarossa-w-strips-with-black-felt-found.259048 I'm still very happy with the door seals that I received from K. Wittig in 2012 -- see post #348 (you'll have to click on some of the pictures to open them). The "bulb" on the K. Wittig seals is slightly smaller and sits a little lower from the top of the "fuzzy" U-part (but, even if you bought "OEM" from Ferrari, they could be different from what was originally "OEM").
Thanks. Did you by any chance compare the KW seals to the Maranello Classic Parts? Saw some of the latter a while back and it seems to match the comments about the KW seals.
Alright. Might be the same. The section with the felt is taller and a touch lighter / more anthracite than the OEM and matches the measurements he listed at: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/testarossa-w-strips-with-black-felt-found.259048/page-12
The Maranello parts seal is the same design as this pic posted by Phil, but black https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/attachments/fc-180-moq2-jpg.1641756/
The fabric on my TR’s door seals is coming off and it’s looking pretty bad. I probably should replace them. Can anyone point me to a source? I’ve tried to reach out to Kerry at the above email address but no reply so he may be out. If I can do without the fabric, would something like this work? https://a.co/d/1v5jyaI
Might want to try again. He posted on some other sites recently. Absent that, this appears to be the same thing, albeit more expensive. Same measurements and look, which is ironic considering the flak Kerry got from a select few. https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/61528200-a
It seems everywhere is out of stock. I did get one quote for custom made seals for $400. However, I went on Amazon and bought a set of generic seals for $27. They fit perfectly and look nearly identical. They don’t have the fabric but that's pretty much an unnoticeable detail.
