Chris, 1493 has the knee bolster you mention. Drum brakes, inside plug, no reverse light, Lucas distributors. Also it has 16" rims, which seems like another variable on the 250pf.

    Hello Marcel
First of all I wanted to express my admiration towards your vast knowledge on Ferrari´s history.
For this reason I wanted to ask if you can kindly give me any information on #2101 (250GT PF Cabriolet II)
Its been in my family since day 1 but according to my uncle, who purchased the car in 1960, this unit was initially ordered by Gianni Agnelli who changed his mind before she was delivered to him and order a more powerful Superamerica passing on the 250 to his nephew in law, my uncle Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe . This would justify the covered headlights, 16 inch wheels and parts of the body with un removed blue paint .
Thank you very much for your help
    Best wishes
    Pablo Hohenlohe

Brian, there used to be a machine shop east of LA. that had it down. They jigged up the entire rear axle in a giant lathe, cut it apart, and welded in the Ford center section. Cheaper than Ferrari parts, and better reliability.
I plead guilty to having done so.
Yes, back in the day they were hard to sell; as said, "too conservative." I always thought they were sweet, but many buyers wanted something more racy.

While my favorite old Ferrari is a Cal Spyder, the 250 PF lines really appeal to me. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, I should have brought that car from Garry Roberts for $60K in 2003.

This car has been in Switzerland since 1970 and is still in Switzerland. It has never been for sale by Garry Roberts.

I wasn't talking about this specific car. If my memory is correct, which is probably isn't, I was talking about 1637.

I remember a black 250 PF Coupé was the first vintage Ferrari I ever had the pleasure of sitting inside. It was for sale in Los Angeles for around $120k USD in 2006 when I visited with my dad. There was a silver GTE at the same store (Heritage Classics) for 90K which I thought was even prettier. I wish I knew the s/n of these cars today....

EDIT: Found the links for the sold inventory pages:

If we're talking about the one imported to Japan and painted white with a house brush, that's the car I almost brought from Garry. It was $60k with the toolkit and $50k without. I believe Shaughnessy brought it before reselling.

Dear All, here is the interior of #1435 as it is today, with a new interior in the correct colour 3476; it is like the Riva speedboats of the era (which my grandfather imported into The Netherlands at that time :); extremely difficult to photograph, and looking different on various computer screens and printers...

Correct, the current colour isn’t the original colour.

I’m trying to fill some gaps in its history, if there are any. Never hurts to ask...
