Wonder about the history of this car...... Was it damaged then rebuilt like this? Noticed there was no CarFax / Auto Check available for it. Just saying....
No accidents. There's a CarFax link on the "Specs" tab. https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?vin=zff68nhaxd0189406 I've been to their shop to look at a custom Mercedes and was given a tour of the shop. Their business revolves around custom (i.e. "Bespoke") mostly exotics. Some were a little over the top for my liking, but my impression was that the quality of the work was done to a pretty high standard.
Thanks for the info as I looked around but didn't see it. Nice to know that it wasn't totaled or damaged (we hope) and put back together like this. I like to customize my cars with bits and pieces but this is a little much for me. I am sure there is a buyer out there for it but I for one wouldn't be that person. I would love to have a Speciale Aperta but I would never purchase a car that was converted to look like one. I would rather have the 458 Spider it was based on. It would be a bummer to have to explain to everybody what it really is and what it is trying to be..... Kind of like wanting a Rolex but buying a Rotex from the swap meet. If you can't afford the real thing, wait a little longer and work a little harder.
In the decades of car buying, one thing has been crystal clear- there is no such thing as a give away bargain. Good deals can exist but the ones that seem too good to be true, are never true.
