Good evening.... Finally removed the heads using puller found on this chat site!!! Next question is the engine stand Does the 308 engine mount like a USA V8 or is there special adapter for the center of the block Thank you in advance Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The studs are long and slender so I used a wooden “I” support under the opposite end of the block from the stand yoke. From memory some 1” tubing spacers were also required to mount firmly to the yoke. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I'm not sure what you are doing, but a regular engine stand works only if you remove the bell housing/transmission. If that's not part of your plan, making up a cradle that picks up the four engine mounts is pretty straightforward.
I used two wheel dollys and built a wooden frame on top of them. Can move it around in the garage. Picture not that illustrative. /Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login
The factory stand attaches to the triangular mounting points on each side of the block after transmission/sump is removed. If you are a handy welder you could build your own. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Here is a auto rotisserie that I built that also works as an engine stand. I used it for my Oliver tractor diesel rebuild, it has side mounts similar to a Ferrari engine. The position of the engine can be moved relative to the center of rotation, once aligned the 700# engine rotated easily. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's my engine stand solution...Yep its also on wheels for easy movement around the garage Image Unavailable, Please Login
