The fastest lap in F1 history?
    Really?
In the fastest circuit in the world?
Driving a car vastly superior than the rest
( time will tell if legit or not)?
    Thats supposed to impress us?
    You know what impresses me?
    This.....

    Diesel-gate is VW not Mercedes.

Kimi held the record from 2 years ago.
Records like this are SUPPOSED to fall every 2 or 3 years (as cars advance)

    Well, not always.
When speeds go too high, they change the track layout to reduce them.
New chicane, higher kerbs, sharper corners, etc ...
And it that's not enough, they will introduce new technical rules to slowslow the cars down

I have wondered for a while what circuit de Catelunya would race like if the used the large turn instead of T9 and T10 "short cut".

Adding chicanes does nothing more than make passing impossible.

Not only that, but Albon was very proud of his qualifying. Verstappen heard this and wasn't quite so impressed.

Well, they're just crazy on the Isle of Man. The TT is a throwback to racing in the '50s and '60s, with a death toll to match. I'm amazed they still let it happen!

On a Bright note, Happy for Mick to win Today in F2. Tomorrow will bring more pain , it's the first time in 14 years I watch Monza from the couch. Miss the park big time.

Well, Max starting off against Sainz & Perez will hopefully make an entertaining battle for 3rd. We already know once Merc. are past turn 2, they're gone.

The ACU (the Auto Cycle Union) that organises the Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man aren't a bunch of sissies like most other sporting organisations.
Also, only riders with guts race there. Motorcycle road racing is the ultimate test of courage and skill.

It is actually pretty much the whole of the German auto industry and anything with a Bosch ECU.

    Yes Agreed
My point was/is...German auto industry (MB specially) is perfectly capable and willing, to develop techniques and technologies to allow their race cars to circumvent the rules , just like what SF did, but as opposed to what happened to SF , FIA and SKY and the Britt press machine is not going to raise the issue because the current "status quo" fits their interest and business model, but that's the hypocritical world we live in

Would you like to ban it ?

What about skying and mountain climbing then ?

Possibly boxing and diving too ...

What about those people who put on wing suits and jump off of mountains ??

What about people taking motorcycles and doing back flips in X-games ?

As to the Isle of Man's TT race, if you want a 99.99994% chance of seeing tomorrow, you don't have to participate. It IS your choice. Some are willing to take a smaller chance of seeing tomorrow.....
