Have an issue where the rear deck lid seems to be jammed....

Pulling up on the cable release at the Drivers door - seems to be jammed -

anyone ever have this issue and know of a work around?

Had it open today- checking the oil - closed it - now won't open.

    Feedback welcomed.

The emergency pull cord is located under the gas filler door

Sometimes the cable stretches or the black tubing that runs from the door latch mechanism into the side panel gets out of alignment. jostle it around if you can get in

I AM LAUGING AT MY SELF SO HARD RIGHT NOW ---- I was literally tearing the car apart (inside) looking for a release mechanism - "I know I have seen it - I know it is here somewhere" - then you post this and reminded me HOW OLD I AM GETTING ---

TY - Let me go try that ;)

I love this forum - and I hope I made everyone reading this laugh at my expense - ;)

Well I hope it works. The emergency front bonnet release cord is under dash by the steering wheel and the emergency glove box cord is under the dash under the glovebox.

The six pack is in the fridge, put the trash out not the cat and today is um, I forget.

You can disassemble the lock housing and inspect the cable and have someone pull the latch to watch the action mechanism. And as i mentioned, once on my 360, i somehow just moved the black tubing just a bit and the main latch wouldn't work. A soon as I jostled it around a bit, it started working again.

Frank your car looks 'nasty' just sitting there.
Large rear tires gives it a muscular stance. Love it.

    Gated too!

I have everything to take the car back to stock after the rally - we had a look we were going for and I think we nailed it.

Thank you for the feedback - we love the car.

Second the jostling the cable idea. I've adjusted, and messed with it and while mine got jammed only once, the "rear deck lid open" light on the dash still comes on from time to time.
I've looked at the contacts and they are good but as suggested jostling the cable always has solved it. (??)

Don't have an answer to your engine lid question, but wanted to say that I dig the rally look.

I got it open - now I have to figure out why it jammed shut -

My bud said he saw a bolt fall out as I opened it - so - I need to go fishing for it -

    just for the record.
if your cord by the gas cap fails, you still can open it.
if you have challenge grille, you can try a long needle to mess the latch inside,
if you have a solid rear panel, oh boy, best thing to do , is to remove the rear bumper, then u'll have some room from under

Do you have factory exhaust? I had a titanium set up which lacked any kind of thermal insulation and ended up melting the sleeve to my cable and seized the mechanism. I had to replace the entire table, not terribly hard to do

I have titanium as well -but I think the challenge grill helps with the venting ---

Yeah... that's what I thought until everything started slowly melting there in the back even with the grill. Give your tail lights and the wiring sometime to start giving you problems too... ask me how I know. I sold it.
