    That's a good question.
I though that the matte effect could only be obtained with a wrap.
But army vehicles used to be in mat colours before wrapping was invented, right ?

There are matte paints around there. Even some glossy paints are a "base" matte layer with the gloss added later in a separate layer.

Many race cars are wrapped because it´s slightly lighter and faster to repair or change, but I don´t know if that´s the case in the Ferrari F1. For this race, as this livery is a one off, I suppose they just wrapped over the matte red.

You are perfectly entitled to disagree, thats your point of view, no insult taken. For me it detracts from the fundamental process of developing the car so a fresh paint job is worthless. Was it last weekends car they painted.
I dont think the sponsors will be best pleased either, all that attention on their 1000th GP and they are at the back of the grid. After that long in the business at least a front row position would be plausible. If you were a betting man, would you back a donkey :)

Best SF keep quiet and celebrate a win.

    Best Regards

PS i love the colour though, blood red. I think thats similar to Rosso Bordeaux

Most teams use paint n stickers. Making the stickers smooth so there are no edge bumps is a trade secret.

They should change this car to the AMG GT BLACK SERIES for the safety car IMO. Quicker too.

Just a thought:: what if Ferrari's lack of pace comes down to the matte finish on the paint job and with a glassy finish the instantly become competitive again !

Perhaps the air molecules would glide better over a glossy finish ...

Seb. was just trying to see if it would be better to race the SF90 than the SF1000. :D

I am in the same league as you on that account.
I must be a boring old fart, but I consider doughnuts (proper spelling on this side of the pond) the trademark of hooligans.
It also demonstrates a certain lack of mechanical sympathy with a car.
