I haven't thought about it much lately, my AIG Grundy policy much less than what Hagerty quoted me, but Jennie just found a deal (I don't know what company) that was half of our old AIG Grundy with more AV.

    So these are current...

    1986 328 GTS

    AIG Grundy - $810/yr $70k AV
    <unknown> - $487/yr $80k AV

$482 per year on a regular auto policy along with the rest of the fleet with USAA.

I have a 15 year old, so I'm pretty close to knowing first-hand what adding a teenager does to the policy.

Is this for a daily use/commute-to-work policy or a limited use policy? (I.e. cost comparison is meaningless without same coverage and same loss/ticket/accident history.)

who gets a commute to work policy for a 328? most people our age are about average too no recent accidents and maybe a ticket here or there.

FYI our policies have always allowed at least 3-5k miles.

People who actually regularly drive their Ferrari to enhance their daily life -- we do exist. The title of your post should've been "Post your insurance rates for a limited use policy" ;)

I driven my F (including commuting to work and going to HEB ;)) about 6000 miles per year for the last 33 years (gone down some since I've fully retired and no longer commute). Don't know why you are getting so damn defensive, nor is 15K miles per year some sort of magic number. Some low-cost policies would only allow garage storage and driving to and from car shows -- if that works for you = great, but doesn't define the cost of all policies.

all the policies I posted would be just fine for your usage and most of the others. I drove 328 1-2 times a week and still put 3k a year. there isn't a huge difference between the 1,500 mile and 5,000 mile policies, they all seem to be about $500 +/-.

These are not good comparisons. Some of the policies listed do not allow “pleasure driving”, some do. I pay a little more than some of these policies listed, but I can drive it wherever and whenever I want as long as I stay within the mileage limitation, which is quite reasonable. Worth it to me to have that flexibility and lack of restrictions.

I don’t know if any policy Hagerty, Grundy, etc that doesn’t allow pleasure driving. If anything they just want to know it isn’t your primary driver.

I believe it was indeed Grundy while I was checking rates recently, when asked if I could drive my car to the grocery store as a hypothetical scenario to their definition of “pleasure driving”, stated no, not allowed.

How about to work once in a while? No.

That's when I moved on, as the answers to both of those questions from Hagerty was, “absolutely, we want you to enjoy your car”.

I think people need to be darn sure about what their insurance companies define as “pleasure”. It wouldn’t be a very nice surprise when your insurance company doesn’t cover you for something YOU believed fit within the parameters of pleasure driving.

Just because you’ve been doing it and getting away with it does not mean you are covered.

In my opinion, it all depends upon where you live / register your car. I insure most of my cars with USAA but the 308 is with Chubb. Louisiana, hands down, is the worst state for exorbitantly high insurance premiums due to the extremely high rate of Uninsured motorist (It's cheaper for the numbnut to pay the fine and get re-instated vs paying a premium each month).

Chubb: agree value of $85000. no deductibles, no limitations, 3,000 miles per year. Same everything but registered in NJ would be 1/3 less.
