The UK has such fine weather all the time :) but even with that I have the occasional need to use the windscreen wipers on the Daytona and the blades are now somewhat past their sell by date. I quick google search reveals a variety of wiper blade maunfacturers which say their products are suitable (at a very wide range of prices although some are clearly applying a Ferrari tax). That leads me to a couple of questions.

    1. which blade did Ferrari use as O.E.M (I don't see a part number on mine)
2 Any recommendations as to which ones to fit today?

    Thanks in advance

    1. Most common OEM(?) wiper arm assemblies I’ve seen on Daytonas have been couple of different styles by “arman&c”.
    2. Sorry Matt, but there's not necessarily simple answer for this one. Like with most other NLA/OEM replacement parts and even something appearing as simple as W/S wipers, "recommendations" often depend on number of variables, including some not mentioned and availability/pricing/etc can be reflective of these, not to mention experience/knowledge of some vendors may at times present added value (= "Ferrari tax"* ?), while others may not.

    * As you may know, I produce variety of replacement parts for Daytonas (& other vintage cars) and while some may consider my prices for them high or even "crazy"/"outrageous"/"ridiculous"/etc, many have cost me more in R & D + manufacturing than I can ever recover, let alone hope for a profit.

I could just change the rubber however one of the blades is also slightly bent out of shape

the correct wiper arm is straight. no angle to the arm.
easy to find in silver. not easy to find in black.
    blades were long.

I still don’t get what exactly you mean.
Care to provide some photos, including few from cars when they were new ?

My experience is pretty much limited to my Daytona, but if my right-side (passenger) wiper were straight it would either have to park about a third of the way up the windshield in order to cover the top portion of the glass or if it parked at the bottom of the windshield, it would not cover the upper portion of the glass.

You mean like numerous other aspects or details of Daytonas (and countless other cars) that were initially “designed” (i.e. intended) to be something other than how they actually ended up being applied/made during production and “how-they-left-the-factory” ?

Have you tried operating Daytona wipers with straight arms under “normal” use conditions, i.e. while driving, in the rain ?
Care to show us the position they are expected to return to after being turned off ?

I was told years ago that Euro cars had the silver arman&c wiper blade and that USA cars had the anodized black ones as it was a DOT requirement for non-reflective blades. Cannot verify - just putting it out there for comment.

To clarify further, the above references to “silver” (i.e. non-coated/-plated, natural stainless steel finish) and “anodized black” (coated/plated stainless steel) generally apply to entire wiper arm assemblies (= arm & blade), not just “blades”, with exception of couple of minor details like the pivot rivets which AFAIK, in U.S. market (“black”) arms aren’t supposed to be or weren’t originally coated/plated black as they appear to have been riveted after the coating/plating.

Unfortunately this thread was resolved for the OP without actually answering the original questions or coming to a conclusion on the straight vs. kinked debate.
