Just saw some specs and pictures of the new Portofino M. Wondering what people think/like/dislike about it.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I like it, although it's really hard for me to tell the difference between this and the older one. If they were next to each other, I don't think I could say which was which.
There's a thread with some pics posted from the reveal today. I really can't see a diff. Interior seems to have avoided Roma-nization, which is a plus as far as I am concerned. T
It would be nice to have a five position manettino, but other than that, I don't see anything that makes me want to jump up and down. I remain very happy with my "old" model.
Looks like they will start shipping next summer. I just bought a 2015 California T so I'm not in the market for a new Ferrari yet, but looking down the road a bit, the PF M would be a good replacement simply for its creature comforts (ventilated seats, neck warmer, better back seats). I don't think the power increase is of particular importance as I rarely get to go fast as it is.
I am in the same position, as I got my 2017 low mileage Cali T HS about 10 days ago. The PortoM could be a logic upgrade in a couple of years and 50k-60k miles later.
Or maybe we'll see it in another year to 18 months. Over the 9 year production run of the California, they launched: 2008 - California 2012 - California 30 (mild performance bump like the Portofino M) 2014 - California T (more significant facelift and power upgrades) If they follow the same progression this time, we'd see something like 2017 - Portofino 2020 - Portofino M 2022 - Portfino mid-cycle update Of course, past isn't necessarily prologue, so don't take this as gospel.
Demo cars and first customers cars are being built. Any member here getting their slots and status confirmed?
My guess is Portofino goes away after the M version and the next car will be based completely on the Roma. IMHO Portofino M will be more like the F512M or 575M, an end of the line model. The California/Portofino top mechanism is now 13 years old and is the biggest reason why these car look so back heavy. I am guessing after Portofino M, Ferrari retires the car and its parts and comes up with a more sleek hardtop and overall design.
This Porto M is a better Roma. All the Roma running gear HP and Handling improvements, with a drop top and classic F car interior.
Went to a dealer showing of the Portofino M on 3 March. Put an order in today (Rosso Portafino). I'll update as I see the status change. Great looking car, will look amazing parked next to my Rossa Corsa 458 Spider. Rob
Put in my order for a PF M (canna di fucile) in May and just hit status 40 last week. *hoping* for a delivery in mid-november.
Congratulations! If you don't mind sharing location details, where did you order from? A lot of people have orders in from much earlier than May without even hitting 10G yet. I hope this is a sign that the factory is finally pushing out new allocations.
I put my initial deposit down in November, submitted production build in May. I am in the seattle area. This is my first time going through the process so not sure how that queued me up - also, my dealer has been fantastic and I know he worked very hard to get me an allocation. Hope that helps!!
Appreciate the feedback, did not realize you started the process in November. Drove a couple of Portofino M test cars a few weeks ago, excellent car. Rob
As fate would have it, received my first production photo tonight. I know there is a lag and it is already painted and on the assembly line, but still cool. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You’re doing very well. I was second in line in San Diego for deposit on the M in October of 20. My order hasn’t even locked yet. So maybe late Q1 22 delivery for Me. Hmmm Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Argh, I ordered in San Diego in March of this year. Looking forward to seeing your production photos, long before mine show up. Rob
