Well, I finally watched the final episode. Yes indeed, good thing the car has a really tall reverse gear. Can anyone explain why she had to put it in auto due to the DCT fluid leaking? I know in older planetary-trans cars 1st and reverse would work when other gears would not, but this seems opposite. Or maybe I am over-thinking it.
That's usually only a problem when the blinker fluid is low, since they share the same reservoir, which can crack when the muffler bearing goes bad. It's mostly a TV thing.
Artistic license my friend, we wanted her to be able to do a handbrake turn ( stuntman’s turn ) not able in these modern cars..
Maybe because I was too young to watch the original series, but have seen many since, as reruns. But I prefer the new series to the old one. This new Higgins is a million times better, and the new magnum is cooler to...and not just because he doesn't look like a cheesy 1970 porn star. I ( we, the girlfriend and my daughter as well) truly enjoy the new Magnum series. Daniel, thank you very much for the inside look, truly appreciate it!
The original Magnum PI is loads better than the new one, even though I enjoy the new one. Tom Selleck was the perfect embodiment of the character. Script wise, the scripts were very entertaining and just the right amount of humor and drama intertwined. Character development and team camaraderie was very special and on display in the original series, even though I like the camaraderie with the new series as well.. Also, in the original series, the story arc of Vietnam vet was referenced were more consistently in a more realistic way than the new series veteran references. Of course, I’m 56 and was around during the first one, so I’ve got my own preconceive notions I suppose! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haha, I can understand that. I'm 40, so I knew the original series from my mom watching it, and Magnum was literally my dad, complete with the mustache and short striped shorts (sans the Ferrari, he's more of a Jag guy) so we probably relate to them differently, not sure your age though. I'm sorta in between them I guess, I thoroughly enjoy both of them and look forward to more behind-the-scenes views from @papou when the new season starts.
I’ve moved on to another project (COVID fears) would have to spend to much time in quarantine after trips home , Hope you continue to enjoy the show. The creator of the show has moved on also we might be doing "Route 66" reboot, Stay safe out there and keep watching. Daniel
If you think the new show is good, then you don't understand what the original show was about. The producers of this show are trying to cash in on the original show and have done a poor job. They should have called it something else vs trying to mimic very poorly the original show.
I don't care for laptop everything. I get Google is here and it's 2020, but he just finds everything he needs to catch the perp on his phone. No originality in the chase. Some have been ok but part of the things I liked about Magnum and even Rockford Files was watching the clever ways they figured things out and the lengths they had to go to. Rockford really was entertaining with his methods.
It’s all about $$$ it’s huge in Asia to a whole new audience who go to Hawaii like we go to say Florida for vacation and they can relate, Entertainment is a false description to quote bill "it’s the economy stupid"
I agree Tommy it’s the same with politicians " We care about the Americans people", all roads lead to banks..
papou, Thanks for the info! Route 66 would be way cool, hope you will still be able to post stuff (post-production of course) I just saw the first episode of the new season by the way: like Tommy and papou said, no originality. All cell phone and laptops. But as I was observing the other day at dinner, that is reality, and was even pre-COVID. I hate it when you ask a question out loud and before anybody can start thinking about the answer so we can discuss it, everyone has their phone out
I DVR'd and watched the first 2 episodes of the season, still enjoying them and it looks like this season might be turning into an ongoing story as the first 3 (at least) episodes are a continuation of the last. I also really enjoyed the Big Lebowski reference in the last episode. That makes for a winner every time.
the original robins nest mansion has been torn down. new mansion is the being built by Obama. his summer retreat?
Obama was only a rumor because its a big donor of his who bought the property and tore the house down. I forget the donors name. Speculation is the donor bought the property as Obama's proxy while he was still in the White House.
Obama's personal attorney is the one who bought Robin's Nest from the lady who owned COX Communications, been in the house several times, it's rumored that his attorney was a front for privacy for Obama to build his dream home but this is 'neighborhood talk' from a few neighbors.
Not sure, I have not been back due to covid and the 2-week quarantine they had/have when you arrive. Not sure how often google satellite updates but it's still showing it as torn down. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, I wonder why they would have torn it down? Looked pretty good on TV. Of course, a lot of things get enhanced and uplifted on TV
