OK, so I am two weeks into ownership of my 84QV and this is more fun than I expected. I am enjoying learning the history of my car and making the little improvements I had planned in my mind over the past few years. The shields are now on (I was torn on this issue between historical accuracy and looks - looks won out here. I think the shield looks great on a dark car) Hill steering wheel extender is on (thanks for all the help there guys) The Euro grill and bumpers are on their way. I am still trying to figue out what to do on the exhaust side, I don't want it too loud but the standard old US setup is too subtle in my mind. Big project right now is getting the Sabbia interior back up to snuff - that will take a few weeks I think.
Later today is a good washing and detailing (weather permitting.) I will shoot some better photos of the car after that.
Thanks to Big Tex I have confirmed that 49719 is Blue Sera Metallic, which I love. I think it is a bit rare for a 308 color. How many of you out there have seen this color on a Fcar?

Thanks again for all the help.

    Chip

Maybe I missed it, but did you post photos anywhere?? I would love to see them, particularly with the shields added.

I dont know how rare the Blue Sera is, but I heard from someone on this board that even the Nero Metallic of my car is pretty rare (24 total between the 308/328s). I would think that the blue may be even rarer.

I would really like to see a breakdown of the original car colors like that.

Blue Sera 308/328s are super duper rare. In fact I've personally only seen 1 308 in that color in 20 years. You should contact Ferrari North America and speak to Shannon LaBiancho, she will be able tell you a lot more about your car.

When I bought my 308 it was Blu Sera. But it wasn't the original colour so I brought it back to that (Blu Dino metallizzato). In between it had been Blu Medio at one time.
Didn't know Blu Sera was so rare but I'm not a fan (too dark for me).

    Hi Chip,

Can't help you with the count but have found a couple examples in Blu Sera:

    http://www.bostonsportscar.com/1983%20308%20GTS%20CV.htm

    Euro version:
    http://www.motorcars-intl.com/vehicle_details.aspx?id=571&CAR=Ferrari-308-GTBi-QV

That Euro is now for sale on eBay with gold rims: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-Ferrari-308-GTB-QV-Euro_W0QQitemZ300410084761QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item45f1d61d99

It's a great colour. Prefer the crema to the blue interior. Look forward to seeing shots of yours!

Blu sera and beige (or tan) GTB, just about the ultimate configuration for me. Very, very nice. Jon

Here's one for sale in Vancouver, BC, asking about US $ 96K. I've never seen the car on the road, at shows, or at the dealership although the dealer is only a couple miles from my home. Don't know the VIN. I've seen other internet photos of what I think to be this car. No connection to the dealer or car. https://www.bluestarmotors.com/showroom/6335/1989_Ferrari_328_GTS_Targa I sold my blu sera 60949 a couple of years ago to an enthusiast in the suburbs of Vancouver. I've not seen it since and have no idea whether it's still in BC. Jon
