OK. I'm brand new with this.
I purchased the most beautiful Blue 2015 California T just a few months ago and I am in love. The car is really great and so much more fun than I ever expected. It is in perfect condition.
So the first time I take it out to meet friends in the next town at a restaurant I leave the car in the parking lot and someone dings my rear drivers side quarter panel (pic attached).
I went t my local Ferrari dealer to inquire about repair.
I was told there were 2 options:
-a specialist could sand buff and paint the affected area and would be 98% perfect for $1500
-repaint the entire panel for 100% perfect match for $10,000
I understand this is a Ferrari and I already own a boat and am used to $20 items costing $200
There are a few options here and I was wondering what other opinions would be?

    Sad story.
Some people have no care in parking lots.

If it is dented, I have had good luck with those "Dent-Less Repair" firms maybe $150, yet not sure if they do color.

If no dent, I would be included to also use Dr Color Chip,
Typically, this is a Do It Yourself project and my best tip in that regard is to purchase an artist size 00 paint brush and to slowly fill the chip with paint over multiple days.
Plus I would not clear coat paint over the chip, just use the color, sand with 1500 grit sand paper (glue a circular sand paper piece to the eraser end of a pencil for sanding control to only sand the chip area) and polish.

If you are then not satisfied, then repainting the entire panel, with a potential blend onto the adjacent panels would be the full repair...I would not do that...I would live with the chip repair.

Again a sad story you posted.

    Good luck.

I would think this damage would be too large and deep for this to work right.

I personally would take the $1,500 option, pay cash, and make sure the shop doesn't report it

Such a beautiful car you have and such an inconsiderate person to do that to it. Let's hope that old man karma pays that @ss back! What goes around comes around.

I also thought the price quotes of $1,500 and $10,000 were both large and very round numbers and I suspect the dealer was going to subcontract this to another specialist for a great deal less.
I had the rims on my Audi refinished some time ago and the shop also does work for the same exotic car dealer since he had several Masaretti rims waiting to go back.
I'll do some research and report back...
