    Does the California T come stock with Bluetooth audio? I know Apple Play was an option but what about just Bluetooth Audio?

    Yup it has Bluetooth audio and works with Bluetooth 5 the dealer told me.

    I use my iPhone 11 and street Apple Music or plug it in and use it as a iPod. You then get artwork on screen

    Perfect! Was going to have Apple Car Play as a requirement on the T I am looking for, but sounds like with that, I don't have to.

    Is the plug inside the center console or in the glove box?

    Center console.

    I drilled a small hole in the corner under the mat of the center console and ran a cable through the to under the bridge so I hop in the car and just plug my phone in and position it between the bridge and the edge of the console

    Just loosen the console. 4 bolts under the mat and then 4 under the bridge. I think there were also 2 bolts near the back but cannot remember. Just clip out the cover under the bridge to access those bolts and the entire center console lifts up then and you have plenty space to run the cable

    Have a look I left it out so you can see it but usually tuck it in under the phone

    Oh man, that is perfect! How's the interface when you plug it in? Shows all the music information, does it allow you to select a playlist from the head unit? Having it set up like that will open up the cars I am looking at since I don't really need the car play now. Thanks for showing me this!

    get a T with carplay. It has so many benefits most important being having an up-to-date navi and entertainment system, it is well worth it.

    It works quite well for Waze navigation, (almost worth the $4K for this alone. Also with the expanded Siri voice actuated commands, verbal text etc. get it if you can!

    There are two cars that I am looking at now that both have it. So hopefully it works out that I get one. Still have to wait on insurance.

    Do you remember what drill bit size you used? I got my car this past weekend and am thinking about doing this.

    If you bought a head unit with CarPlay on ebay, could you install it in a car that didn’t come with CarPlay?
