Great Quali, great race start, great patience, great overtake for the lead and great job never looking back. The slow Prema Doublestack cost him a few tenths when they were precious (watch the replay, Shwartzman's tires were getting on the way of the crew). But he kept his head down and seized the opportunity. Looking forward to the sprint race tomorrow and seeing Mick finish out this season in similar fashion.
Lance Stroll brought his father's money to Williams. Probably Williams survived thanks to that. Williams could have chosen a more talented driver, and gone bust.
Four F2 teams lodge intention to appeal against Schumacher's Sochi win https://www.autosport.com/f2/news/152448/four-teams-set-to-appeal-against-schumacher-sochi-win
**** they're really grasping at straws there...If anything the Rosin dancing and shouting would be a hinderance rather than a performance advantage!
Exactly my thought. It's not like they executed the cleanest double-stack ever. Mick lost time relative to Yuki Tsunoda who he was chasing at the time.
Yep. I loved his overtake on Tsunoda. Everyone was struggling to really do some overtaking, taking many laps at the same point...Mick arrived, set up the move perfectly by forcing Tsunoda to go deep, stuck to his own plan and took the proper line immediately. Never had to look back. Genuinely a stunning drive again from Mick.
It looks like an excellent weekend for Mick Schumacher who not only scored well in both races but confirmed his lead in the championship. He has really distanced himself in the ranking from his team mate Robert Schwartzman, now in 5th position.
CONFIRMED standings after Sochi races - only HALF points were awarded as race was cancelled after 8 laps of 21. Schumacher 191 ILott 169 Tsunoda 147 Lundgaard 145 Mazepin 140 Schwartzman 140
Mick is doing really well. Another win and leading the championship. Looking forward to see him at the Ring.
Great start to gain 4 places. Was watching to see if he would try to position himself on the inside of the turn. He really worked for it at came out 4 places ahead.
A fine weekend for Mick. Nice Sprint Race. He didn't get quite the hole shot as with some of his other race starts but stayed clean through the initial turns. A few nice overtakes, and I got the feeling he was simply managing his gap, caring for his tyres for a push at the end (which got cut short obviously). He's really coming on nicely as the season wraps up.
As an aside, Tiktum should be thrown out of the sport for causing the red flag. Disgraceful. He’s an utter liability to motorsport.
Huh? What Tiktok did? The red flag was the crash after the dispute between Aitken and Ghioto, and to me is was just a racing incident.
Mick, ilott, & Schwartzman will practice the SF71-H tomorrow in Fiorano. Germany: Yep, along with ilott on Friday. Mick will practice in the C39. ilott will practice in the VF-20. Schwartzman will practice in Abu Dhabi.
