I noticed a big difference. The closed sound was much higher pitched to the point where it was almost too much for my ears at the volume I listened. I prefer the higher pitch which is why I simply plugged mine. I always crack the windows when I drive it. My friends and neighbors can still hear it two miles away and my wife can hear me start it a block and a half away.

i think the problem is the OP wants to hear a loud exhaust note (not engine noise) which he won't hear in the F12 because of all the sound dampening even with windows down. it is plenty loud outside the car so i guess he will have to make it even louder so he can hear it inside the car.

It's growing on me. Just gives me an excuse to mix it up between the cars and not let one sit longer than the other :)
