Any idea what is involved in importing to the US and how much it costs in taxes?

Is that price in US or CA dollars?

Depends on where you live for shipping costs but you need:

-Letter of conformity from Ferrari stating the car meets NHTSA/DOT and EPA regs
    -2.5% import duty ($1650)
    -0.3464% merchandise processing fee ($229)
-Customs broker to do paperwork (~$350)
-Single use customs entry bond (~$300-$500)
    -Shipping ($varies)
    -0.5% wire transfer/currency conversion for payment ($330)

Total before registering in your state: $68,959 + shipping

The current owner will likely need to request the letter from Ferrari - I believe it carries some sort of fee.

Buyer wires payment and both parties complete bill of sale using Docusign or other electronic method. Buyer submits Ferrari letter and sale paperwork to customs broker, who creates formal entry papers and forwards them to the shipping company, who uses the papers to get the car across the border.

Entire process takes 2-3 weeks from start to finish.
