I think the shiny chrome detracts from the look more than the size, personally

Looks great! The beauty of having the 5 lug wheels. When you get tired of the landscape just change it.

Actually it looks like a newly released car. No other car has this adjustability. Outstanding

Doesn't look too bad from the angled views IMO, but looking at the straight on side view I can't get "When did Conestoga Wagon Wheels come back into fashion?" out of my head ;)

(Also makes the brakes, especially the rear, look ridiculously small, but whatever floats your boat is OK with me.)

when you use such big diameter wheels then you may change also your brake system that all is matching fine

Brakes vary based on the tire width not diameter.
Traction control (and Speedo) varies if you change the diameter but only if you don’t decrease the side wall height at the same time.

No standard production TR has TC. Not sure about the FX variant

Are there any threads of what aftermarket wheels look good on the tr?

when you use larger diameter you also may use larger ( in diameter ) disks and so also calipers. because standard wheels have been 16 " and the brakes have been terrible

I don’t usually mind aftermarket wheels, but the rear ones are IMO too big. Never thought I’d say that, but it doesn’t seem to go with the flow and proportions of the car. Seems like 19’s would be a good fit for it, maybe some similar to the F430’s.

I think Boyd Coddington made a set that replicated the original look....then he died.

Augment Wheels in Canada will make you a wheel that exactly mimics the original look in any size you want. You get to sign off on the design before they make it. This is unprecedented for the world of TR's up till now. I've never used their wheels as I have 17's on mine, but this is the direction I would go if my 17" tire choices dry up. If you enjoy driving your TR, running 16" tires is a waste of time imo, save your original wheels with good tires and buy a new set of 18" or something to use instead.

Both but mainly diameter. In this case it gets more clearance so no problem.

Right angle views look much better. A lot of cars don't look well on straight side views. Pre 2020 corvettes for instance. I guess you can't
have your cake and eat it too.

Tim has the right idea and company for sure. Very interested. Tim did you say they can do a center bolt wheel as well?

    I´m sure they can do
only problem in germany would be they are not proved by the TUEV and so it is not legal to use them on public roads

yes, they told me they have done a few sets of center lock for TR already. The designs weren't to my taste but were cool. They mocked up this 18” wheel for me which I loved!
