Greetings: A 911 Turbo S and a 308 have very little in common. I bet there are many Porsche TT and new performance car owners that would never consider a 308. The lack of AC, 240 HP, the stiff clutch, etc. I am one of those folks who loves both. I have a 1976 308 and 997 GT3. To compare them is senseless. Its hard to put into words how I feel about one as opposed to the other. I can say that neither one will ever be for sale. My advise, follow in my footsteps.....

    Thank you!

I actually owned a 2001 996 TT prior to buying my 997.2 Turbo S. I loved that car.

BTW, I love your 308 and other cars too! I've watched many of your vids.

    Great collection!!!

Well, since my 308 has the 3.4L built engine from Paul Newman and makes 350 WHP vs. the stock 240, it's certainly a little better in the power category.

But Yes, If I can swing both in the future, I will.

    Thank you!!

A little thread / car update.

-The car developed a coolant leak and turns out it was the hard coolant pipe that exits the thermostat and goes between the passengers side fuel cell and the pulleys. I had it towed to ***************** here in Atlanta and had Wade work on it. He was able to weld up the points that had been rubbed on by the fuel cell strap and then wrapped it for future protection. He does great work

-I also wanted to see if he would spend some time cleaning up the bottom end (take off from light) tuning with the Haltech F. I. He was able to make some adjustments and now it drives even better than it did before!!!

-I had them to a complete check up and look over. It has some slight oil leaking from the cam seals / o-rings and maybe the cam covers but said they weren't worth messing with until it's next major. Nothing else was found to need attention. It's completely sorted (obviously after the complete build / restoration).

-I supplied the oil and filter given to me my Crowndog and had them complete an oil change while there also.

I can't wait to get it back out during some of the future cool fall days. This is the time to really enjoy this car.

Now that Merlin has everything sorted, we took it on it's first trip to the mountains and thrashed the curves a bit. Got some video too but haven't uploaded it yet.

This thing is a real BLAST in the mountains. Handles WAY way better than I thought it would.

It really is a blast to drive.

I know it's tough not to have it anymore, but I understand.

Yesterday was eye opening to how capable it really is in the corners. Even my friend in his Honda S2000 was very impressed with it's ability.

I always felt it drove like it was on rails. Very little body roll with those extra thick roll bars and slightly lowered front.

I’m afraid you would have to go back to the original the thread to get that info. I’ve forgotten. Sorry Brian.

LOL Yeah, actually I can. I have to "schooch" down just a bit in the seat to not have my head slightly rub the top but it's manageable and not uncomfortable.

However, I won't be driving it like that much, if I can help it. Top OFF is the way to go for sure.
