Gents, Can anyone recommend some good OEM replica fender shields? Mine are not to convincing. I found these, does anyone know anything about these? https://www.exoticcargear.com/product/ferrari-replica-scuderia-shields-fender-badges-f430/ Cheers, Mat
I think any shield put on without the indentation for it tends to look aftermarket. Good shields are thick, and when they are not inset from the factory, they appear stuck on, at least to me. You have 2 mm of shield + 1 mm of adhesive. 3 mm proud of the body would be untenable to me. The plastic flexible ones might be best - at least they lay relatively flat.
Just, to clarify I am looking for stick on shields, just the best ones. Mine look like really, really cheap stickers up very close. I know there are better ones, I just don’t remember who sells them here.
Ours didn’t come with the fender shield so I put these on. Sticker with clear resin overlay Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I believe yours are the ones I have they just look sunfaded and to much like a “sticker” for me. I found these from on Ebay and are from and FCHAT member. These are the ones I had in mind after some thought. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw a car that had fender shields air brushed on it. It looked great! You'd need to find a good artist though.
that’s an idea! also, is it possible that a competent Ferrari-oriented body shop could make the appropriate indentation for the shields, so that it all looks factory? I would assume so...
According to other threads, the cost to do a proper job on the indentation for the shield is about $8k and requires a shop that has the right dies. "If it ain't got the dent, it just wasn't meant..."
good gosh. I suppose you could locate a couple of salvage fenders that are pre-punched. Yet would that mar your carfax report? Weighty decisions...
I don't think it will show up on your carfax.. It wouldn't be a insurance claim. You'd just be having a body shop fit/paint the new fenders. Keep your factory installed ones as well to pass along to whoever buys your car eventually and it will be clear they weren't replaced due to a accident/etc.
i have bought the ones from exoticgear. They are good except it took them 6 month to ship them... apprently they had a shortage.
I purchased a set from an FCHAT member and they are exactly what I was looking for. To me there is a night and day difference. The bottom picture is the “sticker” that is on the car now. They will have to go... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
