    Hi
I’ve read the numerous threads on the frustration of sourcing a functioning F430 key. but I’ve not seen this kit before.

Anyone used this kit to replace / reprogram their F430 key? I’ve only got 1 key. The dealer wants $1,300 total for key and programming.
This kits around $900 from eurospares

Just spoke with Mark. Really nice guy. Unfortunately he does not do F430. Looks like it’s a dealer solution.

What I’ve gathered so far is to get a new key you need to provide drivers license and title to prove ownership. That gets sent to Ferrari of Italy and then they send the key to the dealer who then needs to program it to the vehicle.

Hi there. The difference between $1300 and $900 is $400. For an extra $400, I would just have Aron order the key and get it programmed.

Less issues and guaranteed to work.

    Good luck!

Didn't realise this had become such a big issue.. Omg

I can already deactive the immobilizer on F430s no problems so if someone wanted me to develop a key programming tool let me know.

These keys only use PCF hitag chips so should be relatively easy to clone and for not very much $...

That would be great - a tool to reprogram keys to the F430.:)
I don't want to deactivate the immobilizier at this point, I just need to reprogram a new key.
When can you have a tool ready? ;)

I will take a look soon but I cannot promise it will be quickly as I have other things on my plate right now. I fully understand your concern but please don't put too much faith into the standard immobilizer doing anything more than potentially failing on you at the most inopportune moment :(

For people who know what they are doing the immobilizer from a 10+ year old car offers very weak protection/security from theft. Our 360 and F430 ones for instance can be overridden in seconds digitally without disassembly of anything sadly. I feel this sadly gives one a false sense of security. I would recommend removal of factory solution and fitment of a good aftermarket (i.e. non standard) approach which disables multiple circuits (e.g. fuel pump, starter, injectors etc.) if you are concerned about theft. Never rely on manufactures solution alone as its " standard " which makes it easy to attack.

I'm aware, but the OEM immobilizer is required by insurance company, even if you also got a secondary immobilizer device.
And I agree, all the OEM security solutions can be manipulated, only a secondary "secret" immobilizer or alarm would save you from theft.

Do some enquiries yourself as in my experience I am yet to find a single insurance company that actually mandates the original factory immobilizer. Especially if an appropriate professional ( Thatcham approved in UK ) is fitted and has appropriate certificates of installation.

I think you'll find if you query this that majority of specialist underwriters understand this and are in fact just as happy with a satellite tracker (cat q) and after market installed immobilizer (cat 2).

If you think about it these older factory system can never be very secure as they are standard across every car produced and all their weaknesses are now well known.

    Probably differs country to country.
A few years ago, there was tested and approved (by swedish SSF) immobilizers available in Sweden, but not anymore.
Probably because all new cars already got OEM immoblizers, so the market for 3rd part products are very limited. Testing and approving these cost a lot of money.
DEFA has their "Second Verification" add-on, but it's not approved. https://www.defa.com/product/second-authorization/
Some insurance companys do care about the OEM immobilizer being used, some does not.
    I've talked to them.

Back on topic. Anyone have feedback on how the kit would be setup into a F430? Guessing the dealer would place that Code into the immobilizer? Kind of chicken and the egg with how you get the car there once you DIY install the parts.

Nice to pick up all the cards and keys that a new F430 would come with for the price of a single new key (quoted $1300+)

I’m pretty sure I found this eBay seller here but can’t find the thread.
So I purchased a blank key for $10+$3 shipping. $10 to get it cut at my local locksmith.
And surprisingly it works in my 2007 F430.
Not sure how it doesn’t set off the alarm. But so far no problem.

Yeah you are missing the "pill" in the key head that talks to the immobilizer.

I also bought an uncut key head for a F430 but then also bought a used F430 key and moved over the pill and the fob circuit. I just need to take my car code card to Ferrari dealership to get the pill & fob programmed. Only bummer is that the eBay key head has no prancing horse.
