Just wondering if anyone on here has had these fitted on their Cali T? I just fitted an X-Pipe to my 2016 Cali T and love the change in exhaust note. I'm now considering fitting sport cats - but wondering if it makes much a difference to the sound? I think I'll leave the back mufflers as standard as I don't want a crazy-loud exhaust! Not bothered about a valved system either as I can't be bothered messing around opening/closing valves when I want. TIA, Cinders. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have 200 cell sport cats and x pipe on my portofino. The sound is much louder than with stock cats. The only issue is that CEL would constantly pop up but overall still worth it. Anyway, what brand is your x-pipe?
I decided to go the full de-cat route in the end. It's a Larini X-Pipe and have now ordered a Larini de-cat pipe and have an ODB wizard on its way to delete the CEL error codes (preventing limp mode) If it's too loud I'll probably fit a remote valve controller for the exhaust, at the moment I've got them wide open.
A Capristo controller is cheap all things considered. Why ghetto mod your Ferrari when you can have an elegant solution that gives you the best of both worlds? Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
To avoid sporadic CELs from sport cats on the Cali and Cali T, FABspeed sells pairs of Universal 90 Degree O2 Spacers with Catalytic Converters which are placed along the exhaust path to the O2 sensors, essentially cats that scrub just the exhaust reaching the sensors.
LOL. Just ordered it. Will fit at the same time as the decat pipes. Also accidentally ordered some Novitec springs and spacers...
True. But it does also add some drone. Some are ok with that, others not. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I got full kline on the FF- no drone, might depend on the brand I guess! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You can't compare it. The FF is known for being drone-free when fitted with both an x-pipe and cats. The Cali T has a tendency to drone when the cats are replaced, x or no x. That's part of the turbo engines nature unfortunately. The 488, Cali T, Lusso T, F8, Porto all have a bit of drone. Compare a Lusso and Lusso T and you'll see what I mean. Never known anybody who removed the stock cats on a T and didn't get more drone x or no x. The V12 cars are completely different. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I tried spacers but they didn't work. CEL still come up. I have an OBD Wizard from Capristo running quite well now.
Hey Guys, In the end I went with a full cat delete. I absolutely love the sound. It has completely transformed the car. I'll make a video and post it up. Cheers.
OK. I've ordered a Gopro and a suction mount which should be here in a few days. Will make a video for you guys.
Here you go. Sorry it was a bit of a crappy day so couldn't really open her up fully. I'll do another one when it's dry, if it is again this year.. lol. Sounds best at around 4 minutes 20 seconds... I love the sound.
That thing sounds like a beast!!! So tempting to get this done. Just curious, does this impact the warranty any?
