Indycar 2020

Andretti Autosport seems to have the track figured out. After a fairly lousy year to date, they finished the main round of qualifying 1-2-3-4, with the other two cars both in the top half of the field. Penske, on the other hand, struggled all day.

So tomorrow, the fast 9 go for the pole position, and Scott Dixon gave signs that he may have something for the Andretti juggernaut. It is supposed to be windy tomorrow, which should make things interesting.

I use this site as my staple (easy on the eyes, plenty of stuff, and easy to navigate) and it's usually pretty damn accurate. I see 10 mph winds coming outa' the NW at low 8Os. As long as it's a stedy breeze/wind, no pro'lem. According to it, they'll just miss (give or take, 'hope not...) cloud cover for a little extra "boosted" (for qually) boost speed. So Dixon made his statement, but Marco countered! First Andretti on pole since grandpa Mario back in '87. Now we'll see if he can get the win that just eluded him back in 2006. (It's hard to believe it's been 14 years!)

 

That was fun watching the qualifying....

 

Yeah, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. That extra boost for qualifying really made it happen.

LOL what a joke. Huge crash BEFORE race started.

 

Scott Dixon is bleeding points race after race to Newgarden. Mistakes made in Ohio and at Indy today. He went from having this in the bag to being in trouble. Curious to see how this all plays out.

 

Great finale in St. Pete. Congratulations to Newgarden to win the race. Scott Dixon did an amazing job to finish third and secure the championship.

 

I watched it, great race, but I can’t get over the goofy-looking cars!

When the safety car runs out of fuel ....

(And can't run on anything served in pit lane. )

 

Penske will rue their slow start to the season that allowed Dixon to jump out to an unassailable lead. Probably fitting that the top 3 drivers in the championship drove for Ganassi, Penske and Andretti, respectively.

 

St Pete final race was awesome... kept my attention the entire time. Can’t wait till 2021...Indycar is really good racing.
