I wish! Drove home Saturday alas, could not stick around. Now spare a thought for the F1 team crews. After packing frantically Sunday after the race and deep into the night, driving 2483kms with non stop truck driver swaps out of Portugal, through huge barren dry Spain, the Pyrenees mountains, across the south of France, passing near Paul Ricard, then above Monaco, through Genova and over the new bridge (replacing the one of the tragic collapse), past Portofino (sorry no time for an Aperol Spritz or any stop at all) down the coast, across the Apennines to Parma, past Modena and Maranello, around Bologna and after just over 24 hours of driving arrive at Imola ...and that is not counting rush hour crawling traffic in various places...phew. The they have to unpack again.... I hope they all make it with no breakdowns or incidents because time is very, very tight and that is in fact why Friday practice was cancelled..... When I raced in England 86-89 I rented a workshop at Silverstone from Chas Mortimer a former Moto GP racer and he told me of the thousands of kms he drove through Spain on endless roads like in the American west. I experienced it in 2007 driving from Seville (after visiting the Miura family of bull fame in their Ganaderia for a certain book) to Valencia once, a huge distance, it never ends and is very sleep inducing. Well Chas had the fright of his life once. A German going down the other side of the highway fell asleep, crossed the highway and missed him by an inch....a second before atomising the caravan he was towing...
So Lewis complete his seventh championship year, also giving Mercedes another constructors championship. Does he finish out the season, happy to have set all the other records, and satisfied to have tied Michael with the number of WDC, and then retires? If Mercedes dumps Bottas and takes Max in for next season, Hamilton risks going out on a lower note if he stays and Max beats him.
A reminder that Imola is only a 2 day event this year with only 1 practice session. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/fia-finalises-rule-changes-for-imolas-two-day-schedule/ Image Unavailable, Please Login The single free practice session on Saturday morning will last for 90 minutes, and it will be separated from the start of qualifying by a 2.5-hour gap. There will be two drivers' briefings, with the first in the standard late Friday slot, essentially to talk about any matters resulting from Portimao. With no Friday action, each driver will have 10 rather than 13 sets of dry tyres, namely two sets of hards, two mediums, and six softs. Three sets have to be returned after FP1.

No, this is not his helmet for Imola. Not only the ARAI SK-5 is an old model, but also it's for karting only since its liner is not fire proof.
