Hi All, Just took delivery of my first ever Ferrari (360 Spider)and it felt like it was floating as opposed to the razor sharp instrument it is supposed to be. Any idea as to what the cause could be? Thanks
Balljoints and suspension bushings mayhaps? Or possibly shocks that need replaced? If everything is original it may well be time for replacements.
What did you drive previously? Have you driven one before? I went from a hot rod 74 Alfa GTV which feels like a go kart compared to the 360. 60mph in the GTV feels like 100mph and 100 in the 360 feels like 60 mph Ive had some track time in a 430 so i knew what to expect before i bought it. Maybe try and get with some other owners or a shop in the area to try and get a comparison?
I have also noticed that the 360 seems faster than it should? Maybe its the manual or the fact I have the top down but 60mph seems extremely slow. And the car gets there in a hurry. And that's coming from a 800hp SS as my last car.
they are a serious speeding ticket waiting to happen and it has nothing to do with your gearbox. My car seems to want to cruise over 80 mph. Even with the top down there is next to no wind noise and if not for the speedo you would swear you were going half as fast.
Thank you all for the input turns out the aftermarket wheels are the problem. we switched them out to standard 18' and did a wheel alignment and tire pressure and all is much better.
Congrats on the purchase. You will love it. Sooo fun. Check the classifieds. There’s a set there. I just got a set in the UK shipped over being sent for refinishing. If not try eBay. PM me there a Mondial Owner that just pulled them off his car as well. He’s motivated but I already bought these. ScottS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I personally think the 19” wheels enhance the looks of the 360. I have a 6000 mile gated Modena with the original wheels/tires. I was able to find a NOS set of 430 19” factory polished wheels but haven’t had the time to have the PS 4S tires mounted. Challenge wheels should look great on your car.
That’s a great look. Both the 430 and challenge. Are challenge 19s? Did not know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am sure they are 19’s I debated between them and the 19” double five spoke 430 wheels Both are beautiful
yes sir.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-18-FERRARI-360-MODENA-CHALLENGE-SERIES-BBS-RACING-WHEELS-RIMS/123771229974?epid=1554513945&hash=item1cd1571716:g:lA8AAOSwjp5azVic
Either way great wheels. I did not want to pull that trigger at that price point. I went discount. Congrats. PICTURES ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Addendum: I just checked the specs of a 360 Challenge Stradale and the wheels are listed as 19”. Source: R&T article from the early 2000’s Comments are welcomed Thanks
I believe the Challenge wheels are 18 and the CS wheels are 19. They look alike otherwise. Kevin Sent from my SM-G930P using FerrariChat.com mobile app
