I still have original belts in toolkit. Should I replace with new? Can they be used? Or only for emergency until I get new ones?
I suppose they can be used for emergency (if a belt breaks on the car, it's better to have an old belt than nothing) but they probably are not very reliable...
Personally, I think the tool kit and all that jazz is for show only. As such, leave the original belt. Can you even imagine changing a belt on the side of the road with the silly tools included in the kit?
I think I have known two guys who MIGHT have been good enough to pull off a belt swap on the side of the road. But, really, no, no fricking way!!
One of the reasons I swap mine just like the recommendation, every 3 years. Actually works out to 3 years and two years when the cambelts are done.
