For 600,000 you can buy a 488 GTB and a really nice 308 and a really nice 328 , I dont get it ??? Thank you
in my opinion that's a bad way to throw away half a million, but everyone can do what he wants with his money. And the original car looks better than that. ciao
So 50 more hp, a bit better suspension and braking (why that's needed with only 50 more hp is another question), and a carbon body with led lights all for only $500k over what a nicely sorted, stock car would go for? I dunno, when I think of resto-mods I think of cars that have pretty radically different powerplants, WAY better performance, and a lot more unique touches than this one. It looks nice. I like the front spoiler with the black center section. Not a fan of the headlights or the lip running around the back? What is that for? To me it doesn't look different enough from a stock 308 to warrant that high a price.
Cost aside, I really like it. It is in a similar vein to David Lee’s million dollar 246 “Evo”. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/ferrari-dino-monza-36-evo-david-lee/
Well, David Lee's car is really nice, but the million dollars is a joke as well - the car was 100% built by www. Mototechnique.com in the UK (and there's zero F40 about his "F40 block" engine, the block in Lee's car is from a 3.2 Mondial), and they'll build you one for a couple of hundred thousand on top of a Dino. More to the point, the same Mototechnique company does a 308 restomod that is genuinely well done, none of this "slap a bit of carbon fibre here and there", no mis-shapen carbon fiber engine lid, etc. as on this Maggiore thing. Here's a video about the Mototechnique EVO 388 This car would run about $200K on top of a 308, gives 400 hp (not a marginal 300 hp as in the Maggiore), and a proper suspension. Did nobody else notice that the press photos of that Maggiore show the car has a reverse rake - it's higher in the front than the back? I seriously question the competency of a customizer that can't get the most basic suspension setup correct... A restomod in my opinion (maybe) makes sense on an ugly car like 911 is: Singer's 911 look better than the poor looking stock Porsche 964. But no modded 308 looks bettere than the original, that is a design masterpiece. Assumed that I consider modding a 308 a waste of money and nothing else, if were forced to vote for a restomod car, I would prefer the one that modifies less the exterior. So: in my opinion Mototechnique 388 is ten times better looking than the Maggiore. This said, this is the restomod I prefer: a stock car restored without any mod: in my opinion it looks much better than the half a million or 300-400 k restomods. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don’t understand where all the snark is coming from: For $10k per extra hp, you can have a 308 that drives like a 328 (!), and you get the added benefit of losing of some signature design elements of one of the prettiest cars ever made
I said I liked it but I have already change my mind. All the little problems are starting to annoy me. What's with the "air scoops" where the rear side window used to be?
There’s nothing about this car that I like in the way of appearance. It also looks like a heavily modified body which means lots of filler or welding which adds weight. At least it’s still powered by Ferrari.......
this one here below just changed owner a couple of days ago at price around 80 k USD: I think you can have a lot of fun with this car (that in my opinion is much more better looking than the two restomods) and even much more fun with the remaining 420 k USD... ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m about to go check this thing out in person! I’ll have updates soon wish they dropped a 360 motor (at least) in it, and not a huge fan of updated design but I’ll at least hear em out
It's like putting fake balloon breasts on Jennifer Anniston - Just messing with perfection! The 308 GTB/GTS design was simply perfect when it left the factory (with the exception of the fugly US-spec bumpers! ) The only people who have ever managed to make the 308 GTB/GTS design look even better, is Pininfarina/Ferrari - And they called that car the 288 GTO!
Pretty risky move putting the 308M next to some originals! About to see it revealed Image Unavailable, Please Login
