I run with Ronnie quite a bit....his 430 sounds amazing! Correct, headers with S line. He also put headers and exhaust on his V12 VS which also sounds epic. I have a vid I’ll try to post of his 430 running with my S. Both sound similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I haven't actually made a decision to change it. I'm interested in the S-Line and I am curious what it would sound like with the stock headers, but I'm also a bit hesitant to change anything from stock. Just weighing the options.
I put an S-Line on my Scud that was new to me this summer. As others above have mentioned, perhaps 20% louder than stock unplugged but with a much higher pitch and an F1 like shrill above 8k that still makes my spine tingle every time. The above, plus the 20+ lbs it takes out and the lower heat make it a no brainer. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
totally makes sense. i think im gonna try the full larini (headers/200 cell cats/muffler) with their valved muffler...how bad cld it sound!?
Completely stock other than the S-Line exhaust. No valves to it, so this is how it sounds all the time. Moderately louder, but much different in pitch. I have MK2 second generation OEM headers with cats.
I may be in the minority but I don't think the s line is worth the cost over the stock exhaust unplugged without headers. I had an s Line prior to me replacing the headers and I could barely tell a difference. Needless to say I ended up selling it as I did not see $3,000 in difference. I have heard it with headers and that is a different game all together and I think it is worth it. If you don't plan on replacing the headers I think your better off just unplugging the valves on the stock system,. If you plan to get headers eventually I would grab an S line. I bought a F430 coupe in July and It already had ceramic coated AP headers, stock cats and an S-Line exhaust. It was extremely loud and had a terrible cabin drone in the 3k rpm range on the freeway. I loved the higher pitch sounds, but hated the interior DRONE. Maybe it was because of the AP headers (no precats)? I ended up reinstalling the OEM valved muffler and tailpipes. The drone is gone and the exhaust is more than loud enough, when the valves open.
Kline also has a valved exhaust that seems to sound very similar to the S line, although my experience is admittedly limited to the offerings on youtube.
