A 348 spider was my first Ferrari and I preferred it to the 355gts I had later. I now have a 430 spider and unless I can find a Scuderia it will probably be the end of the line for me with the mid engine Ferraris, I’m not a fan of the newer models. I’m still holding on to my 550 for the same reason. I did add a 675LT because that car has a purity of feel that I think Ferrari lost a long time ago.

Is that a compliment to your F430? Meaning, it's the last best-feeling one in your opinion? Or it has turned you off modern Ferraris....

Awesome, that's what I interpreted, but wanted to make sure. I'm aiming to buy a 430 very soon (will be my first and hopefully "forever" Ferrari), and personally don't love the look of the ones after it (or their prices, haha).

It doesn’t do luxury like the newer cars but the flip side is it’s a more visceral driving experience.

Heck to the yes...! I know everyone has their own taste, but for a luxury, that’s what my daily driver is for. 2019 Mercedes AMG e63s. Loaded with all the bells and whistle ‘s. On the weekends, when I have the time to drive my fun car, I honestly never turn on the radio, don’t care about Bluetooth, and don’t need a back up camera. But the sound of that V8… And the view of the engine through the glass… to Me, it never gets old

Absolutely! I had a bit of trouble getting used to the F1 transmission, but I’m happy now. Would have loved to have a manual, but I don’t think it’s worth the premium.

I think 458 owners will have a lot to say about it!

Let's not forget this was an '86, trying to compete with the TR of the time.

Last month, I also traded in my 1994 348 Spider for a 2008 F430 Spider. I had the 348 for 18 years and 20,000 miles of fun. I loved that car. The 348 was entirely trouble free except for routine maintenence items. Just a great car. I decided to modernize my V8 Ferrari and keep the 86 Testarossa. I landed on the 430 spider for many of the same reasons mentioned already, the newer V8s just don’t strike me as much as the looks of the F430. When I took delivery of the F430 from Ferrari of San Francisco (~1000 miles) I did miss the more connected / go cart like feel of the 348. Now that I’ve had the F430 for a month and become acclimated it is a new favorite. Although it’s a low mile F430 I do intend to drive the wheels off it. I have plenty of garage queens already!

if any FChatters spot a red F430 zipping around AZ with a guy smiling ear to ear- that’s me! Cheers.

Did you say the car had less 1000 miles?
That's quite the find or you paid a Kings Ransom....

I had my 2006 F430 Coupe for 3 months now and it has been awesome from the first moment. No speeding tickets yet (knock on wood), the garage I bought it from did replace the passenger mirror as it was very loose. for the rest, happy days! I personally am not too much of a fan of the later models, i love the "rawness" of the F430 and especially the sound (I have the stock sports exhaust, the one that has F430 embossed on it)
