2111 GT was registered in the name of SEFAC S.p.A. in Modena from 24 February 1961 until 26 September 1961, with license plates from Modena "MO 63311".

What is your favorite 250 SWB of all?

I have a soft spot for Slavic's SWB as it was during the Louis Vuitton Bagatelle Classic back in 2002. I dont know how accurate it was to original spec but to me it looked perfect that day.

Neither 2439 GT nor 2845 GT would be for me.
2939 GT or 3005 GT would be among my favourites but really very best, in my opinion, would be 2417 GT. Or possibly 2973 GT.

    Any recent photo of 2939GT?

2417GT looks absolutely amazing too. Reminds me of the ex Slavic car as when i saw it in Bagatelles.

I know i asked you this once already but i do not remember it now, what was the sn of the SWB Comp that was displayed at the factory for a long time in 2005 (silver comp - owned by a very nice gentleman broker from CH). That one also looked amazing!

The car at Bagatelle 2002 was 2439 GT.
2417 GT is a hundred times better. This is the very first of those super lightweight SWB's and was raced by Willy Mairesse, Giancarlo Baghetti and Mike Parkes.
2439 GT was crashed in the early days and supposedly got the body coming from the Breadvan.

Mr. Massini, I'm not - by no means whatsoever - questioning your knowledge, but don't you mean 2937 GT?

No, I do mean 2973 GT which is the 1962 Tour de France winner.
Not 2937 GT which won the 1961 Tour de France. But that would also be quite high up on my list.
Subject to personal inspection re all matching numbers etc.

Thank you for your explanation. From an outsider perspective, 2937GT seems like one of the best: TdF winner, 2nd at Paris 1000KM, 3rd at Spa 500KM, 50 years of Bardinon stewardship.

But one - like myself - cannot attest the originality of the cars using the Internet :)

It actually is 55 years of Bardinon family ownership as Pierre Bardinon purchased 2937 GT in 1965 from Lanners.
But it was then repainted red with a lightblue stripe.

At the peak of the market, April 1989, a "Sefac hot rod comp" SWB (#2725 GT) arrived in Switzerland, coming from California.

Thank you Marcel for the memory. Here Nurscud is a colour version of almost the same. A long time ago and the first reunion I believe of the two Rob Walker cars. Both Stirling and Rob were there at Silverstone and I drove Stirling around the Circuit with Paul Vestey driving Rob, I seem to remember. As we came back to the Paddock the car was almost besieged by people wanting SM’s autograph, so Stirling simply had to make a dash for it. It made me appreciate the constant spotlight he was under, though by and large at all the other meetings when we were together, people were respectful of his space and very courteous. I post another photo from my album of HMQ giving 2735 and myself the full Concours inspection. Not sure if I got a Royal Platinum that day, but I did get a very pleasant little chat and a brilliant smile. Accompanying the Queen was Canon Lionel Webber who organised this gathering in aid of I think, a Boys Club Charity at Brentford in Essex. He was the BRDC Chaplain and also the Royal,Chaplain. Lovely day in different times
