Everything BMW builds leaves me cold. In a somewhat odd twist, seems as though Porsche is the BMW of yesteryear more so than anyone of their competitors.

I hate to say it, but to me they may have 'jumped the shark'.

Just awful - looks like nothing and everything (else) all at the same time. And looks as fat as it really is.

Its only distinguishing feature is the grille and here it’s not only ugly but cheap looking (in black) and very poorly executed. Looks literally slapped on.

Really looks like they “did an Edsel” - grille and all.

I look at the front of the BMW and all I see is Buck Teeth. Add a a wheat stem in the grill for the country version.

That’s another thing: what’s the deal with putting a grille where the bumper is supposed to be and doing it’s “bumping”?

Don’t know how many Audis and such I’ve seen with crunched grilles—probably from a hit that would have been easily absorbed by a proper bumper.

Interesting tidbit: I see a hint of Karma in this angle view, as well as typically strong Porsche DNA.........anyway, I'm lovin it....

This was BMW at its absolute best (E39 M5, exterior and interior) and was what made BMW an aspirational car to me:

Although this exterior (E63 6-series) grew on me, I never really grew to like the interior all that much:

And pretty much everything they've done after that, both externally and internally, never clicked with me. The current design language is completely alien to me.

I spent my teen years pining after BMWs and desperately wanting to own one whatever it took, but today I no longer want a new BMW - they don't appeal at all on any level.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Finally an exhibition with car design considered an 'art form'. Long overdue.
