Pulled out valve hose and pluged it. Sound stupidly good. Well lets hope CEL light doesn’tcome on. Take the wheel off and you cna access it pretty easily. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Overall I just wanted to see if GPF has any effect on raw sound and electronics. Based on past experiences with f12 and ff, it sounds same when valve is open. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Good to hear. Any sound clips/videos? We would all love to hear that glorious V12. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There was a post on another GTS thread in which the owner installed the Capristo Valve Controller on his GTS and stated no CEL and greatly improved exhaust note.
Any check engine lights now that it’s been a day since you plugged them? My service tech keeps saying he is pretty sure it will trigger one if I plug the valves or use the controller on my incoming GTS. I saw that the controller didn’t trigger one in another GTS. can you post a video of the sound? I'd like to do the same if the sound is much better. thanks in advance for your consideration. i appreciate it.
The only difference in sound is under 4000 rpm. It is much linear. Volume increase under 4k significantly so be aware. Why do this? Most v12 torque down under is enough so opening valve do little. Also, most of the time spent is under 4k so people does this incliding me. Compared to SF, with or without valve mod, yes it loses somewhat to SF’s shouting nature up at the top rpm. Has more rounded sound so to speak. But it is not less or worse. I wish I speak more fluent english. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
No cel so far. It seems valve mod doesn’t affect any GPF sensor. My exp with valve mod is as following. V8 had no issue. 430,458,488. Lp640 had no issue. Avantador had an issue. No CEL but engine frequently died during idle. Less back pressure made this. FF died during idle too. F12 was good for years. No CEL no idle die. I didn’t try SF and Lusso. By the way, GTS died during idle twice even before valve mod, so I figure I will do this mod and see because I have to check the car anyway for this matter in the shop anyway. sharp eye, I didn't even realize. No shields, wanted the Avio blue to be predominant also wanted to be low key.
Yes that was once the thinking when the picture seemed the same. However Il Co-Pilota asked the tech guy at the Ferrari factory and each picture is that car as he explained in the reply copied below> There was some guess work regarding this, but I did some digging. They are in fact correct, they are not reused. The three cams are not manned and just snaps a photo when the car passes. It literally takes zero effort to get the pic. The little effort lies in getting the pic sent out. It is fully automated and as one of their techs said when showing me the cam. Why cheat with something that is fully automated and just runs itself.
Ok maybe then not the case. Guess we see for sure now that a declared painted shields owner shows it. Good to know. All the others seem nearly identical even the backgrounds. Whereas the other ones are a bit different positioning in the frame.
With valve open all time, sound is more linear. Will post track footage if I get a chance Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
