This sign is from the famous Bob Grossman Maserati dealer in Nyack, NY and is one of the few, if not the only, Italian made Maserati service sign to come to the US. The Italian-made signs feature raised lettering and trident. This sign is identical to the sign Maserati had in front of its service center in Modena for many years. Can be seen in old videos of factory tours.

Maserati dealers based in America were given permission from Maserati to make their own signs in the US, so they are far simpler by comparison and no raised lettering. This sign has a small chunk missing from the bottom-most area, not visible when looking forward, have to inspect under to see. Also, appears to have a newer frame which does have accoutrements for back lighting if one so choses to install.

One of these popped up on auction with Christy's about 20 years ago. I have never seen one offered otherwise. Located just a few minutes from Road Atlanta. $3999 OBO

    Hello John,

well, I am not very familiar with these kind of automobilia. Yes, some appeared at auctions and were sold in quite high numbers. But most of these were from the 1950s as they a VERY rare.
Sorry for not more of help.

    Ciao!
    Walter

You should do some more homework on it and put it on BaT. I bet it fetches $7.5+ there

Crazy enough, I asked BaT and they said they get far too many requests for old original signs, never Maserati, but certainly everything else, so they very rarely accept. I may have Christie's or RM Sotheby's have a look
