Problem with the F8 is that it is too fast. That is like going to a 5 star restaurant and complaining that the portions are too large.
Not only too tasty but portion size is too large. I won't be going back. Much prefer skimpy portions and less taste, otherwise I tend to over eat.
and if the 5-star restaurant is too digital rather than analog (whatever it means ) it really must be ditched.
Eh, it's more like being served a huge portion of food in a restaurant where you're only given four seconds to chew, and your waistband is already extremely tight. I'm not sure it's a sleight against the car as much as it is against driving in the UK.
And that will never happen... Portions being too large. There will always be the one that will complain, as you can see. Sent from my BLA-A09 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Not too bad at all. I’ve yet to see a customer car trap over 140 mph, though. That’s quite a bit below European magazine tests. I expect eventually we see 10.1-10.2 at 141/142. Hopefully.
Finally got the opportunity to Tack the F8 this morning. Fast yes , faster than my 488 GTB , seriously hard to tell. Love the steering wheel. Felt tighter . Definitely love that it revs to 8000 rpm without a brick wall. But the sound in one word **** . My 488 GTB with valves open I love. The F8 will be around for at least another 2 years . If I hear a solution to the exhaust with no cel and Ferrari approved I will change to the F8. Current situation though is extremely good. There basically are no 488 GTB's for sale in Australia. They are being swallowed up as soon as they hit the market at very good prices to the sellers.

Nice run for the F8 https://www.instagram.com/p/CGG8P-6j44N/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_mid=D76DF323-1DD6-4269-BA73-C1D346629559
Thats interesting feedback. I have about the same wheel time with 488/F8 and would say the more progressive delivery of the F8 somewhat masks its additional performance. Either that of your leather roof liner is seriously adding BHP
I own an 488 and had an hour long drive on an F8. I agree with above as i also couldn't discern a noticeable power increase in the F8. The only objective improvement i picked up in my F8 drive was the steering wheel feedback and accuracy. The smaller wheel no doubt contribute to this but its clearly a big improvement over the 488's steering. I also thought the steering of my 488 was an even bigger improvement over my old 458..
bite your tongue!! The 458 is the greatest vehicular In the history of mankind to be never surpassed. It also sounds pretty good.
I got to drive the F8 recently I drove over in my 458. The F8 is quick at least in 3rd gear when you get the full power and the ride quality is next level to the 458 but as soon as I sat in the 458 and ripped through the first 3 gears the F8 was a distant memory I'm afraid. The 458 is such a more raw car. The noise of course is no comparison and the steering is better. Makes no sense to me.
I have a 488 and am thinking for trading up to a 812SF early next year. I'd appreciate your thoughts as someone who's done the move and why you feel it was a mistake. Depending on your answer you might save me a shed load of money.
I am not a 488 owner. So I can't opine on comparison as I don;t have either one. However, your question already seems like you don't want to trade it. It comes down to what you are looking for. If you are looking for a super car upgrade within the same F-line, then you know that the Pista or F8 would be your best option. If you are looking for a very elegant, sporty GT with a beast of a power unit that is the closest thing to any V8 supercar, the 812 SF is your answer. I am expecting my F8 soon. My next target is the 812 SF. I don't think that anybody has actually made a mistake by "upgrading" to the 812 SF. The mistake is letting go of a V8 Berlinetta to get into a GT type such as the SF and expect the GT to behave like the V8 Berlinetta. That is why most people who want the GT, keep their V8. With that said, from that I have read and heard, the new 812 SF is probably the closest thing to the V8 in terms of handling because of its new 4 wheel steering. That is the only edge over the F12. I am going to test drive the 812 SF some time soon. You already have the 488. I suggest you text drive the 812 and see whether "it tickles your fancy". I am already biased in favor of it. It would have to be a huge disappointment for me to change my mind. Let us know what you end up doing. I am interested to know. Have a great day.
The 458 is undoubtedly one of the greatest supercars Ferrari has ever made. It has been so great that it has been and continues to be the launching platform for all subsequent models, including the F8. Although it remains an authority within all models and others as well, it has its shortcomings that can't be overlooked. You can't possibly say that the "F8 is quick at least in 3rd gear" when you have a 710 vs a 560 HP vehicle with a much more advanced and quicker DCT. The ever and never ending story of the sound has been discussed ad nauseum... And yes you can't compare no newer V8 Berlinetta sound with all the emissions restrictions to the less restricted 458, other than the NA V12 (without new emissions regulations). Luckily that can be easily but costly improved ( please notice I said improved and not equalize to the 458). It all comes to how much you like what you have, that I respect. These are a sign of the times, just like with people. The older generations is always resisting the new one; although there are some differences and there are some bad things coming with the new ones, they also brings some better things. I am a fan of the 458. It is the LANDMARK vehicle for the modern and contemporary V8 Berlinetta. It is the best aging Ferrari yet. It's lines still compare to today's esthetic standards and without it, we wouldn't have the 488, the Pista and now the F8. I would certainly get a 458, only after my F8 and then my 812 SF.
