mine and a friend's probably the only time Round Top has seen two nearly identical BBi's in for ever. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool. Isn't that the little town with the famous apple pie place?!? Nice bit of Texas down that way...T
Not going to hold many antiques with those rides. I've never been to Round Top, but know of many Suburban loads of wives who make it a yearly retreat for shopping and drinking.
AJ Foyt's silver one was "known in those parts"....long gone now though... Round Top has some major development going one there.....and as I understand it a brewery. Digman is right though, it's more of a wine scene for the ladies....
Rumour spreadin' 'round In that Texas town About that shack outside La Grange And you know what I'm talkin' about Just let me know if you wanna go To that home out on the range They got a lot of nice girls
Tex...Funny, but I never put 2 & 2 & 2 together about LaGrange & the Chicken Ranch & Best Little. Great post. Thanks...T
My family owns land in a small town called Winchester, which is outside of LaGrange. I play that song every time I go up that way.
Lol. I’ve been thru Winchester dozens of times (live in Bastrop), ate at Murphy’s from time to time and had ice cream at the little ice cream shop. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Haha. That’s the place. We have a spot up there and half of our family is buried in the cemetery right across from Murphy’s. It still blows my mind people drive out there to eat at that place.
Wow - small worlds! My family is from the Winchester area as well (originally settled near Serbin). At one point, our family owned the general store and building that Murphy's is now in. They also helped build the Lutheran Church (St. Michael's) that's there as well. Cool area. I spent a lot of time in Shorty's growing up. We're starting to re-d0 a place just West of Winchester on 153. It's been in the family for over 100 years but has been largely neglected for the last 20ish years. We have a big project ahead of us, but I'm looking forward to it. 2cam
