Feels like we're getting away with something - butcher cut, huge, and for both under $14.

Dayyum gents...some very yummy looking meals ^^^

Last night was - ho hum - yet another smoked and then seared prime beef steak from costco...this one a NY Strip. Oh, I drank a $9.99 bottle of low-end Bordeaux that I picked up at Costco (see picture) and I have to say it was fantastic (if you like smokey Bordeaux). It would show well at 4-5x the price point imho. I'm getting a case on my next trip to costco. Pick one up if your local store has it and let us know what you think..

Tonight is going to be a long anticipated first-ever attempt at "Bolognese" sauce for me. I was inspired to try it by @dstacy from his recipe that has gotten some attention in the silver section (he calls it simply a "red sauce"). It took a couple of hours to prep, but now the anticipation continues for another 10 hours (and I am using a crock pot for the first time in my life...two of them actually!). Its obviously not a strictly traditional Bolognese, but its got a fair bit of that going on and more...

Looks better than ho hum to me! Since this virus mess I haven't made a Costco wine run down to DC. I miss it - spending too much locally. Yet TotalWine has some decent choices and they now deliver to the house, so big bonus there.

Well worth the effort. I made a Bolognese sauce last night. It rocks in any form.

    $14 total or $14 each?
    The former is highway robbery!

    For both, total!

Edit... these last two were $11.29! $3.99/lb, just under 3lbs. I chat with the butcher what a great deal it is.

If you can get it, try Trumer Pils. Out of Berkley, CA. Excellent Pilsner!

Yep, all indirect. Let it run about 450. It may jump over 500 if I'm distracted. Turn occasionally, add sauce, prepare for something tasty! I add the asparagus with about 10 min to go and add some bbq sauce to them too.

Edit... I keep burning the hairs off my fingers, gotta remember to open it SLOWLY, or even more SLOWLY!

I had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings at A&W around 2pm. They slipped an order of fries in my bag by mistake. So with the burger, onion rings and fries. I'm not hungry. Skipped dinner. Have some cherry Jell-O that I'll have as a snack.

    That's good.

I'll have to find the official Family recipe.

After several days of marinating as large [2.5"] chunks, 3 Spring Lambs on large skewers over a large electric-motored Mangal fed a lot of Farmers who got together post-Fall harvest for that tender deliciousness, pinquito beans, many loaves of french bread, salad & beer.

My dad got back from the states Saturday. He needs to quarantine for two weeks now. Since my mom has COPD and is high risk. My dad did my house as his quarantine location. This time they also make you put a tracing app on your phone. Both of us are supposed to stay in quarantine. But I'm going to sneak out and get him his seafood udon and me sashimi and rolls.

    Max,
Order in! You're setting a bad example for Dad! :D

BTW, I thought the US-Canada border was closed?

I also took Bella to the park this afternoon. The land border is closed. You can still fly in and out.
