I’m considering getting rid of a beautiful highly optioned F430 Berlinetta F1 in perfect working condition for a low miles Cali T with Handling Speciale package. I think the CTHS will be faster, more modern and have less items to be concerned with long-term but you lose some of that sound and exotic feeling of a supercar. I’m kind of on the fence about it I’m looking for some insight for those who have owned and driven both. Thank you for any thoughts you can share!

I have not driven an F430 before, but I can tell you the CTHS is a blast to drive! Also, if you live in an area with nice weather, there is nothing better than having the top down and just driving around. I do not think I have ever driven the car without someone giving me the thumbs up or taking a picture. The car really is a blast to drive and super fun.

Not sure how it compares to the F430 but would assume it's a completely different experience.

Went from 430 Spider (4 years) to Cali T.
430 was a great experience but never felt comfortable with the F1 Transmission for typical use on the street.
Cali T is faster and better in every way and the 7 Speed DCT sealed the deal for me, its excellent.
If you value the top down experience at all, you have even more reason to trade. Coupe or Convertible in 15 Seconds.
    Love my Cali T!

Cali T HS is an amazing car. Quite fast and very enjoyable.

Get one with Apple carplay and premium audio, you have the perfect car for the next decade. Entertainment systems are the ones that get old the soonest.

Not had a 430 but I currently have a Cali T. I moved from a Maserati Stradale and I really do miss the noise of a N/A car. The T just doesn't have the noise. It drives lovely and the ability to have the roof down is great but the noise is very poor.

No I haven't tbh. I've looked at YouTube and they dont seem to sound much better?
I think it's the turbo and the flat plane crank together.
    A turbo Mercedes sound nice

I have the HS on mine, and I get a good bit of gurgles and pops from it. I have never heard it compared to a standard Cali. Would love to hear the two cars next to each other.

I went from an F430 Berlinetta (6 speed) to a Cali 30 and then to a Cali T. The only thing I miss about the F430 is the manual transmission, but to me, the convertible aspect outweighed it. I have some experience driving an F430 Spider with the F1 transmission, and I wouldn't think twice about upgrading to the DCT in the various Calis.

"Noise" is never good, but sound is. I quite like the one coming from my Cali T HS.

Cali T HS has the sport exhaust package and it does sound good. I had one and thought it sounded great. I did a rev off between it and my 488 when the 488 arrived.

That's why i think I may like a cali 30 over a t. I'm in a maser mc that sounds amazing. The na engine of cali 30 has me leaning toward it, as exhaust sound is a big part of the driving experience for me.

Aftermarket exhaust parts produce a much more pleasurable sound from the turbo engines. There are many posts on that subject in this section.

I had a 430 Spider, now the T ; chalk and cheese. 430 defo more of an event with that N/A mid engine sound; T is faster, very capable, better fit and finish, 430 IMO handled better, more flat through corners.
I do feel the T is very underrated .

It has the higher pitch when revving. However, I think when driving the 488 sounded better. The 488 sounds really good accelerating from 3500-6500 rpm, better than the Cali T HS in my opinion. That said, the 812 sounds best.

Cali T HS sound better than Cali T
    I had a Cali 30 (2 years) before & now Cali T HS since 3 years.
I was very happy with the Cali 30 but I prefer the Cali T HS. The V8 turbo engine is simply great.

Well I missed out on the car I was set on so I did this instead. 6MT. Really miss rowing the gears. Keeping the F430.
