Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login It’s nice to look at from thirty feet away— I can’t get the brakes bled— I had the rear suspension and calipers off and I have air or some issue with changing out a factory brake line.
(If I pump it 3 times it pressures up but then I let off and the pedal drops to the floor.)

I can’t post this in a P 935 group- the purists get their hair parted the wrong way even though it’s a 1979 930 with AIR group 5 bodywork.

Some on here might recognize this car from some very old posts in this very thread.
After 6 years of trying to rescue this car, I was finally able to bring it home this week.
This will be the perfect recipient for my Ferrari motor. There is a long road ahead and I will be documenting the entire build/rebuild i a specific thread of it's own

    Fantastic!

As a former Daytona replica owner I'm anxiously awaiting updates on your project. I still have a replica set of the vehicle's various documentations. I might have to pass that on to a new Daytona owner. :)

Should it use (& need) same glass/windows as factory Daytona, I have all, both new & used.
    PM if interested.

    Whoa, goldmine!

I was wondering where the front window would come from. Often a point of contention in replicas.

This can affect the entire international replica community - people who celebrate and enhance the status of these beautiful cars.

That's probably bc Jaguar is now selling their own replicas or sanction 2 of the C Type.

Funny story. A late friend of mine built a wonderful Daytona spider replica based on a real Jaguar. He took me for a drive one night, scary stuff, the car was a rocket on wheels.

Bigodino, I would be interested in how you identified 7695 in your post and where you saw it?

I'd like to revisit my post from more than ten years ago (!) The reason? I'm trying to figure out if s/n 7695 was used for TWO 250 GTO replicas? I mistakenly answered Chris incorrectly, referring to a different GTO replica, namely 3781.

So Chris' replica used s/n 7695. It was red when he built it and later on it was repainted grey with a silver stripe. However, I posted a picture of another GTO replica that I spotted twice way back in 1996. I've looked up my written notes of those spots and it clearly reads 7695! It's the replica pictured below. First seen at DK Engineering on August 1, 1996

And again a few days later at the Coys International Historic Festival at Silverstone. There you can see I saw the engine bay and probably spotted the s/n there. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So did I make a mistake in writing down the s/n in 1996,or did that replica also use 7695?

Why the heck wouldn’t they be auctioning the car at Monterey? It’s there right now.

The audience with money is at Monterey, where the car is, this very weekend. For a good car, you can’t get a better audience. (Yes, BaT buyer’s premium is capped at $5k.)

My guess would be that the car — especially its proportions — don’t hold up as well in person as in photos.

Or the better houses wouldn’t accept it. But they’ve all previously accepted other “tributes” or “recreations”.
