My thoughts echo most you have read or heard before. Excellent build quality, great performance for a large, heavy sedan (except at launch, they limited the power to prevent driveline shock in the model year I had, I think they have revised this for the 9 speed transmission cars), lots of tech. Downside is depreciation, maintenance, and repairs. I did not buy an extended warranty and probably saved some money, but it was not a bunch. If you can find one with carbon ceramic brakes, pay more for them, brakes are $4k per axle and they can go quick if you use the car hard (I did not, but others have). Looking back, I would do it again, the car was worth the money (I did buy used, not new).
Friend had an '18 E63S and loved it, was great in snow as well w/ snows on, just like my M5. However, I'd get a used M5 instead, cause the ride is very harsh on the AMG. I'm talking the AWD versions of both, from '18 on....

I have a ‘19 AMG 63s... its my DD. Never in my 40 years of driving have I had a better car. Mercedes nailed things with their amg division!
